R15 or Wait for 2009

I wanted to start a new thread on if one should just go buy R15 as all are raving about it or should wait up n watchout for new announcements in Jan 2009.

Am sure there are anxious bike enthusiasts who really got "Reved Up" by R15 and were surely not disappointed - it sure is a superb machine. It has kept us oogling with jaws wide open..

Now as we approach Dec and Jan, the time of new announcements in Auto Expo.. so what should one do.. Go ahead and buy and seat yoursefl on R15 or waitup for more ..aka Kawa 250RR/ Honda 250R and all that we can just speculate about

Eager to hear...

if you are not in need of a bike immediately, it makes sense to wait for the auto expo, lots of exciting launches expected.

With the ongoing recession, i doubt if auto companies would risk launching new products, especially not in the 250cc range. My instinct tells me launches could be expected around diwali next year or optimistically post may 2009. So it makes sense going for a R15 if ones in a dire need of a bike.

Auto expo happens every two years.
This years show is over. next one should be in jan 2010.

I suggest you to take a look at other options in the market.
Maybe you can go for a second hand superbike too

There is no Auto Expo 2009, it will be held in 2010.
With regards to what bike, I would wait around the Dec/Jan time for the Ninja 250 pricing and any fresh news on the Karizma from HH.

Dude, one of my very close friend works for BAJAJ AUTO and has told me that NINJA will take another year to come to India, so, better make alternate arrangements rather the wait

Every now and then we hear rumours of near launches, but truth is that most of these do not happen for a really long time.
If you like the R15, get one now. If something else comes along next year, and you feel like upgrading, go ahead with the purchase.
Bikes will constantly be added to the Indian market as there is a lot to come and we are at the nascent stages of high end motorcycles, so you probably are not going to live out of a single bike for a really long time if you are an enthusiast.
Basically make most of what the market has right now, and plan again when the market has an interesting offering later.
