Guys....Pls suggest me a good bike to use in a hill station...My requirements are that it should be powerful, should have a good ride and handling, have a comfortable seating position for a tall guy:) and should be able to handle the rough stuff as well...Fuel efficiency is not at all a problem and my maximun budget is 1.5 lakhsplease:

Please.

ZMA all the way, if the word peace of mind is in your dictionary :)

Dude, go in for a Thunderbird TBTS. Very confortable, powerful 350cc engine, very good handling (ideal for mountains), good mileage, less maintenance.

And coming in your budget (Price: 1 Lack).

thanks,

Looking at your requirement & budget I would recommend that you go for any of the RE bikes especially the 500LB & TBTS

thanks,

The TbTs handle bar and cruiser styling will not be very comfortable on the steep turning slopes.
I personally prefer the regular design for the Hills.

But that is just my opinion.

+1 to that. RE 500 suits all your requirements to the dot and it will last longer than any other bike on the block now. You could be riding the same bike after 20 years on the same roads and with a smile on the face :)

I think the RE 500 is the best bet, I have been longing to own one, can't afford 1.2 lakhs, you are lucky dude, RE 500 it is...

and 5 overhauls? lol:

Having seen sprag clutch problems with atleast 4 bikes I saw personally, I don't trust RE :)

Buy only if any friend of yours has bought recently and NOT had sprag clutch issues.

Get any bike with FI. FI is always welcome at high altitudes.

Personally I'll get an old Rx and smoke the hell out of the hillstation. he he :D

Bullet is a good choice, but as every one would agree is quirky in its own beautiful ways.

Having said that
Hillstation = Altitude = Cold+Thin air = carb tweaking + cold start problems.

So I think technology = Fuel Injected.
So Apache FI, even the humble Splendor FI, Pulsar 200/220 ?
Servicing them at the same location that is a diff story. (Might be possible)

Me being a small guy would never think of a bullet (I like it, but its really heavy for me)

If you (SX4) think you can handle the bullet go right ahead, you cannot go wrong. Only suggestion is get one with a disc brake.

The Yezdi Roadking, if you can find a good mechanic to maintain it.

ha ha,lol: I agree, smoke the hell out with an RX. But I did not suggest an RX because its not available now and he has 1.5 lakh rupees at his disposal, so why not aim for the ultimate vehicle available on road in india..today !

I wouldnt suggest the FZ16 because its relatively new and nobody is sure of how it will hold up. (R15 also falls into the same category, nobody is sure of how this will hold up too)

Karizma, well, a nice bike but it has its own milleage issues, moreover its a four stroke.

apache ?? its too small a bike (infact I hate calling it a 'bike', looks more like a midget luna)

pulsar, the dumbest 4 stroke money can buy at the moment (hopeless engine)

Buy a seconds RD and you will spend the rest of your life filling petrol daily.

RE 500:thumbs up

I too think FI bikes provide more performance in high altitudes. Yamaha R15 suits you perfectly here, its USP being excellent cornering ability. Other FI bikes are TVS Apache RTR and Pulsar 220 DTSI, but dont know how suitable they are for a tall person such as you.
