Hey Major. I'm using a Thai made IRC 100/90-19 tyre on the rear. Will move this to the front once I find a 110/90-19 for the rear. They cost around Rs. 3200 per tyre. At the moment there's a regular MRF ribbed tyre on the front which will be discarded.

You're right it is a con. But that's what Metro Tyres in Mumbai is charging. They claim that VAT + Octroi + tyre tube + two middle men between Mumbai and Delhi make the difference. I think they're making a fat packet too. But they're the only guys I found in south mumbai with IRC. Know of any others?

Thanks desi, but I guess that wont be necessary. I couldn't find an IRC 110/90-19 tyre, so I plumped for an MRF Nylogrip meteor 110/90-19. It's got a block tread but its profile is more rounded than ordinay MRFs - decent compromise for now, till I find a better tyre. Cost was Rs. 2100 inclusive of tube and tax.

Hi all, inspired by Gordon and V12, I have managed to convert my 2 months old Electra in to a Cafe Racer following are the pics. And I am facing some problems one of them is that I am unable to fix the clubman handle the right way as it is touching my fuel tank , so till I get a solution I have put it the other way. No rearsets as I will be riding it in the city and not on tracks and that too only on weekend mornings.

Can anyone please suggest me about fixing the handle the right way with the same tank?:Frustrati

There are a few more things to be done: 1) have to buy the rear tyre 2) the rear indicators look too large. 3) the carb needs to be adjusted and maybe jetted. As always send in your suggestions and comments. Cheers.

Where do u find the rubbers to cover the shocker leg ?
Are these of any other bike or genuine AVL350 Machsimo ?

I have put a 110-90, 18 inches (have changed the rim to 18). Although I don't really like the narrow profile of the tyre but the swing arm of the bullet does not allow much margin so can't really help. But yes this is definitely better than the puny OE size.

UPDATE ON THE CAFE RACER.

after installing the goldstar shaped exhaust which is anfree flow one, i have noticed a massive thrust in acceleration which of course I am liking, can give my dad some competition when he races with me on the weekend on his Karizma.

But i really want to put the clip on handle bars instead of this rabbit ears style one. But thing is for sure, cafe racers are much agile to handle in traffic than the normal bullet. It might be purely psychological but its good for me.
