By import, I meant hand-carry. I doubt that will be a problem if the quantity is low.

So Motul does not officially supply 800 2T in India. Sad. And I guess, they are not going to start supplying it either, as demand must be low for a fully synthetic 2T oil.

You can try hand carrying it. I've not heard of anyone who has done that so far. Look for repsol full synthetic 2t while you're at it.

The 800 was sold officially and was there on the website too but not anymore.

Bringing up an old thread. Last week, I carried a 1 ltr 2T Fully-Synthetic oil in my check-in luggage from Munich to Bangalore. As a precaution, I removed both side stickers and double packed it in plastic bags.

Re: All about Two stroke (2T) oils

I used to own a Kawasaki Bajaj RTZ Delta (KA20E1341) from 1992 till 2003. My preferred 2T oil was Castrol Super TT. While at college, the bike used do about 2000 kms a month. Once every 6 months, I used to mix NULON to a tank full of fuel. Amazing difference in acceleration and smoothness. Even the fuel efficiency shot up. Only on my long distance trips, did I mix 2T oil in the petrol tank, that too on a tank full of fuel @ 10 ml per ltr. Have to admit, Castrol Super TT really smoked - unfortunately those days I was ignorant to the dreaded word 'pollution'

Re: All about Two stroke (2T) oils

I too had a couple of 2 strokes ( KB125, Honda MBX125F and a Kawasaki AR125)

I used Castrol JetX most of the times and on some occasions used Mobil SuperSynth 2T as it was available in Pune from a dealer back then!
Later on switched to Shell 2T ( regular) and Shell Advance VSX 2T for my RD350.

Nowadays, You do get the regular Shell 2T at the shell pumps. Sadly, no two-strokes with me anymore and am looking out for one!

Re: All about Two stroke (2T) oils

I had bought 12 liters of shell vsx 2t a year back. Its an excellent oil. Bike runs much smoother than on the elf i tried before and it smokes less too.

Then comes Shell / Castrol / Agip / Yamalube / Motomix in mineral oils .

Petronas is somethin in between cas its synth .

We also know u shouldnt waste good synth by using it while running in .

Synth oil even for stock bikes is good.

But why question is how do know how to grade which indian oils ?

How do u know max and hp suck ? what do u grade these oils on ? Thickness ? Price ? Viscocity or has somebody actually sat down and run a set of engines on each of these oils and measured ring and clearance / liner wear and tear ? How do we actually know which of the local mineral oils are better than which ? We only judge them by brand , price , smoke and smoothness . Nothing concrete i.e. Engine wear and tear or oil grades . can someone please clear this up .
So RD 350, you advice a full synthetic engine and 2T oils..

Re: All about Two stroke (2T) oils

I have used Motul on my RX100 and 135 premixed with the petrol as opposed to using the oil tank. I was fortunate to have a local mechanic who was able to source it and suggested the oil-petrol mix ratio suited to the carb tuning.

That said, I had found the IOC oil to be of good quality as well.

Re: All about Two stroke (2T) oils

Hi All, where can i source Shell 2T oils online. I am unable to find them. The Shell petrol stations around me (Mangalore) do not have the 500ml/1ltr bottles in stock and are only receiving 40ml pouches.
I am still running the oil pump on my bike and therefore the need for bottles.

Re: All about Two stroke (2T) oils

Hello to all, and sorry for reviving an old thread.
Due to own passion and seeing @Funkykar @Arun1100 and @Ashwinprakash having a knack for old geared scooters of 80s and 90s, I purchased a good condition LML NV run 45000 kms.
Rode it for 2 days knowing nothing of geared scooters or the technology and it seems quite smooth in the 35-40 kmph range.

What 2T oil best for 2 stroke scooter since manual says to mix oil with petrol, and 20 ml per litre?
Also at pump should I fill normal or premium petrol in this machine?

Please see and answer, vetarans. I am from WB, India. Regards.

I fill the 2t oil available at Indian Oil pumps in 40ml and 60ml pouches. They cost Rs. 16 and Rs. 20 respectively. Normal petrol is more than enough for these machines.
