Powder coating on the engine cover?

looking around to the engine block of my friends Avenger (Been Locked for a month )

people say:
If you wash with petrol/diesel/kerosene, you run risk of spoiling the powdercoating ( the silver type).

how true is that ?

Don't try to powder coat the engine block. It'll blister/crack within a few months.

Only factory powder-coating will last for long.

Don't waste money !

You can use Diesel/Kerosene but not petrol. But make sure to wipe them off fully after cleaning.
