Booked A Midnight Black FAZER. EDIT : Delivery taken!

Hello Guys,

Finally booked a Black Beauty. Expecting delivery on 13th August.

After 9 long years on a YBX and covering 1.6lacs, and having almost booked a Punto, the biker in me forced me to decided to go ahead with a Bike, keeping in mind the ever growing Bangalore Traffic and an Indica at home driven very Sapringly.

The decision for the Bike was a between 3 bikes.

1) R15 - Did not go for the R15 only beacuse it did not feel comfortabe for Home Minister - my wife. - Cant argue with her, u guys know what i mean.
2) P220 - did not impress me nor my Wife. Loads of vibrations at the foot and few below the butt. not Impressive.
3) Fazer - Now eagerly waiting for my BEAUTY.

regards,
Raj

Congratulations Raj. The traffic in Bangalore got me back to biking too
Got a RTR 180 last month and now going to those markets with no parking space suddenly isnt a pain anymore.

Do post some pics when you get your bike. My report is pending too but have only covered about 60kms over the last 2 weeks

You are right, driving in Bangalore is like driving in a Junk yard, it take me more then 1 hour to cover 17Kms from home to office.

So decided to go for the FAZER. Congrates on the RTR, awaiting a detailed report.

Congrats!

I too own a bug-eyed alien Fazer It is hardly seen on earth, but I'm sure, it is very popular in some other planet!

Ownership has been very hassle-free, only service is a bit of bother.

But hey, Yamahas are great bikes! Enjoy the ride!

its definitely the best looking bike in the market as of now, but its totally off the TOURING tagline the ad carries. Anything over a 100 and the engine feels strained. Mind you there are no vibes but you just dont feel like pushing the bike anymore. Great handling too.

Now Enjoying my Fazer

Guys Do accept my Sincere apologies.

Got the bike delivered on the 30th Of August against 13th.

The Bike is awesome and I have already covered 800kms in the last 21days, Will update the details shortly.

On the 11 got a call from Satish from Perfect motors that the delivery has been delayed and confirmed that the delivery would happen by 25th August. Was disappointed and decided to call few friends to get the Regional Sales managers contact, spoke to Rama Prasad @ 9886075920 from Yamaha, he gave me a clear picture that the bike will be Delivered by the 27th. As the bookings are higher then expectation.

On the 25th got a call that the bike is hear and asked me come over and select the bike and make the complete payment. Of the 6 Bikes in Black picked my bike and made the payment with 30th as the Date of Delivery.

Out of the showroom directly went to shell and topped her off.

The first few days went, answer people on the road about the Bike and it felt JUST AWESOME.

Few Initial Positive Points to mention.
1) The ride is excellent
2) The Mirror give do visibility without vibration.
3) The Engine is not rough and very smooth.
4) The display is good and the automatic back light is very efficient
5) The back seat is very comfortable unlike what it looks.
6) The high beam is excellent. (Even Trucks Drivers dim their lights when flashed)

Few Initial Negatives Points to mention.
1) The seat doesn’t hold you and lets you slide.
2) The turning diameter is larger
3) The lights focus is not that great on low Beam. (Have to check if this can be rectified)

Being busy a bit with Home and Work will surely upload her pics this weekend.

I Gus it’s a bit to early for the detailed report.

Guys sorry for the delay,

Watch this space you are going to love it.
The Fazer is definitely a Looker and the best at it.

The one thing that can make it better would be 'MORE POWER'

Congrats Raj. Time to look at a black one. We already have a Red one here. Get a matching seat cover to take care of the slides or you'll keep on banging the nuts everytime you break.

Congrats raj! Eagerly awaiting photos of the black beauty. Interesting to note what you say about the pillion seat. Can sari clad ladies ride side saddle on it? It appears so small and put me off. Another factor was the absence of any provision for a side box. There must be some means for carrying a little bit of luggage if it is to be used as a daily commuter, otherwise it is good for only a weekend ride.

Perfectly agree with what you say about taking the bike rather than the car in city traffic conditions. I too take out my new Alto mainly during weekends and commute to work daily by my trusted Splendor. It takes longer to reach office by car during peak hour traffic.
