Can Anyone Tell Me If This Is A Genuine Yamaha R1 Or A Fake??

spotted these pics on orkut. just wanted to know if this is a genuine r1 as a few parts dont QUITE convince me. for example, the headlights , rear wheel, wheelbase of the bike and missing front mudguard.

p.s: am posting the pics with permission.

Pulsar indicators ,misaligned faring , no front fender ,fake fairing ,no mirrors ,fake side fairings , no bar end weights , left lever is different from right ( it might be from pulsar ) . Runaway, as fast as possible from that bike . 200 % crashed .

Definitely not an R1. As far as I know, the R1 has 3-spoke standard wheels front and back. This seems to be a modified R-15 or a bike with an R15 fairing. Although some added superbike parts would be double-discs at the front, USD forks, under-seat exhausts.

Additional things that confirm its not an R1 (apart from what black12rr has already mentioned) :
Wheels
Tail lights (some cheap ones) and they're fitted vertically.
Exhausts jutting out of the fairing
Rear mudguard
Triple clamp, handlebars and instrument cluster
Absence of a radiator.

Fake without any doubt, and must have met with a serious accident. Fairing is mis-aligned with the front and with omission of front mud-gaurds (or whatever is the exact term for it), it rather looks ugly.
Rest is all fine, as akshay pointed out the upside down forks looks great.

Where was this bike spotted? For all you know, its because of such dealers that the DRI decided to crack down on SBK owners. With so many 'fake' SBKs around, it isn't surprising to find such pieces of art/engineering around.

i had the same doubt at first too but im not quite sure of that now. check out this picture. there are clearly more than 3 spokes. as far as i know, this bike looks stock to me.
also, the headlights on the fake bike are of an r15. anyways, thanks a lot for helping me out with this one.

it was spotted in chennai, on G.P Road. its an area known for its car and bike modification/ accessory shops.

Why even that. The fairing is a giveaway. Straight rip off from the R-15

I agree. Someone who is used to seeing the R1 might be able to tell the diff at first glance, but the rest will be left wondering.
