I bought this in Vijayawada."Padmaja Royal Enfield".It took 45 days for them to deliver my motorcycle.I have booked this on September 6th and took delivery yesterday.I opted for red,but it wasn't available.Showroom got more blacks and they told me to wait for atleast 20 days for the red to come,But 20 became 40+.

@jkdas

I got this at 1.07L on road price but got a discount of 2,000 rupees,because the dealer M.D is my friend's uncle.So overall price is Rs 1.04L and I don't know about old engines,but this is an AVL engine like the machismo I think.Other than "no satisfactory thump",RIDE is very smooth.I completed 180 Km now,will change the silencer to Goldstar as soon it completes 500.

TBTS doesnt have an AVL Engine. AVLs never came with 2 spark plugs for sure.. oh yes, may be one additional plug as a spare/free gift from the dealer

AVL developed the aluminium engine, if i have to say it like that.

AVL did not develop Twin Spark (TS) engine.

TBTS is UCE.

UCE comes with Twin Spark (TS).

Twin Spark (TS) was not present on AVL developed engine.

Now read backwards and it will make sense again.

The UCE engines were developed by Engines Engineering, Italy for RE. Now, M&M has acquired Engines Engineering.

Cheers,

Is it okay to change the stock silencer with GOLDSTAR ? I am about to complete 500 km soon.Any possible side effects ? I am using this as "TOURER" only,but not for regular usage.

P.S:

I used my previous TB as a regular bike,never knew anything about thumping etc.Any suggestions,on how to maintain my motorcycle,improve thumping,avoid rust on chrome etc would help me a lot.

you should not go for goldstar in Run-in period or 2000k !! or you might have to upjet the carb.

Even if you get a goldstar silencer, the original thump sound is difficult to obtain in UCE engine. if you are thinking to get power from the goldstar, then it is better to upjet and have a K&N filter.

Goldstar will certainly give you a different, slightly better sound; but the original thump of the bullet belongs to Cast Iron engines. From the number of UCE/AVL bikes I have seen, none gets the same sound. You can only increase the volume of thump, the distinct character of the thump would not be there. (My opinion and inference).

For more power, you may need to upjet your carb, or probably fit in a new, better one.
