Teflon coat - RE Machismo , Pune

Hi ,

I am looking to get the (so called)teflon coating done for my bike to keep it shining. Right now without it the water droplets leave a mark on the chrome.

Does any one know any place where I can get this done ? and what is the expected costs and number of coats done ?

Dhone will charge 600 for 2 coats. I am looking for better deals than this.
(For eg. Bajaj charges 450 for 3 coats for the 220)

Teflon coating is a waste of money. Formula1 wax would be a better option.

Cheers,

Are you sure the stuff they are selling is original? It happens to be the most counterfeited detailing product around.

I suggest Turtle Hard Shell instead. It is now easily available in Poona. 3M is also an option.

I bought it from a motorcycle service center in Sangvi, Pune. I know the owner personally, so I'm pretty sure that he won't sell me counterfeit stuff. I paid Rs 200 for the Formula1 wax. The bike has retained the shine for over a week now. This, in spite of being in a dusty parking lot. All I had to do was to dust it with a piece of rag. Highly recommended.

Cheers,

Jay

@Nikhil: I did teflon coating on my bike, some 7yrs back. It still needs to be waxed. So, forget about teflon and just wax it regularly.

Turtle price

can some one help me with the price for turtle hard wax. have heard some great reviews about it.

(i personally prefer the protection from moisture and tiny scratches over shine.)

Also, is Turtle Wax applied only on painted areas, or does it do a good job with chromed parts as well?

While I have found Turtle Hard Shell Wax to be good when compared to other products in the Indian market, some other members have pointed out that it is a mediocre product when compared to stuff available abroad. To all those who have posted above, who are looking for Turtle or other available brands in the Indian market, assuming that its the best they are using, please go thru other dedicated threads on this topic. Also, please search for "Collinite" (wax) on tbhp. You can have it ordered, but its pricey!

@Edsel, I have used Turtle on the chrome rims of my bike. Seems to do fairly good job there too.
