I had been planning for quite a sometime about revival of my old pal/college mate - Yezdi Roadking 250CC (1994). It is in running condition, occasionally used to go places near home.
I have this bike for almost 15 years now and was always thinking of giving a fresh life for it for a long time.
Last month i decided its time for the bike to have a fresh coat of paint, chrome, etc. The bike is till in the hosiptal as part of the rebirth surgery.
Here are few initial pics, while it is undergoing the surgery. :)
Pic 1 - Backbone
Pic 2 - Legs
Pic 3 - Heart

Nothing gives more pleasure than to restore all faithfuls and again cherish the moments. HAPPY RESTORING. Let Bhp-ians know if you require any spares.

Hey its great to see the legendary Roadking being restored. The exhaust note of these two stroke engines is music for ears. Appreciate your effort, keep it up.

Regards

Pranav

@subhasis_999/Pranav,
Thanks a lot for the wishes.
Pranav, you right, the exhaust note is absolutely a music to ears.

The mechanic who is doing the work on my bike is the only one who has touched my bike till today. Any breakdown and anywhere, i would just call him and he would there for me. clap:
In fact, couple of years ago i had an accident and the panel which supports the headlamp had broken and it was replaced with the new one.
Now he has kept that old one for me and did the necessary work to replace the same original support panel.

RK_SANS,

Is your mech on RV road? Near South end circle, Bangalore hospital? Have seen many many Yezdi's outside his garage, seems a famous guy in that part of Bangalore.

No, My Mech is in Seshadripuram, behind Nataraj Theatre.

Did this road king come with this kind of header ( spreaded at top in the third picture).
I have seen that kind of header only in Oil king.

Nice to see a Roadking being cared for. Good luck with your restoration and please post pics when it is done.

BTW, are you getting the bike repainted - if so, what color? I am mulling getting my '96 RK repainted - want something nice & eye-catching.

Yeah, did you change the fins or did the bike with those radial fins?

@rk_sans,

We both have the same mechanic. I got my 1995 RK restored from Razzak 2 years back. It still rides like a dream. Last week, I did go on a long drive around 120 Kms, Blore - Magadi - Ramnagar - Blore. Without stopping, I rode the entire streach in one go.

Hope to see your bike restored back to glory soon. All the best.

It is the radial fin head and it came with the bike.

Wow, a very small world. Good to hear that. Its Razzak who is doing the work on the bike. He is one amazing guy i feel and one of the reason why no other Mech's have touched my bike till today. Its been 15 years now.

WOah! Even my mechanic is Razzak. But Seshadripuram? My guy is in Shivajinagar near Elgin talkies.

i am a bullet guy but i love the yezdi too. it has a certain mystique about it! even love the sound.
good luck with the rebirth

Wow! Brilliant Santosh!!
That ride looks sweet!!
So, what are the list of things that you are getting done?
Is it purely cosmetic? That heart looks NEW!
Same is with the wheels. Really neat job. Would love to see it in real.
How about bringing it for the next B'lore meet :D
Cheers,
Deepak

Thanks Deepak.
It was more of a cosmetic changes except few things. I had maintained little better, i wouldn't say it as 100% but little better. Back mudguard was one of the major replacement.
The heart looks really new. The pics i have are taken from the mobile and its not so clear. But to see it in flesh, it is indeed looks very new.
Would love to get it to the B'lore meet. :thumbs up
