Ignition Coil - Machismo AVL 350

Seems like my ignition coil has failed. Any idea how much a spare would cost? Also can I fit any 12v ignition coil, since it is a CDI unit that controls it eventually?

Re: Ignition Coil - Machismo AVL 350

i got one fitted on my bike for 100 RS + 50RS to fit it. but it was a desi one. i am not sure if the ignition coil is sold separate.

i hope you are talking about the one that is in the clutch case. not the HT?

Re: Ignition Coil - Machismo AVL 350

If it's the HT then its for Rs 470 and you can not fit the bigger coil from other bullets but the coil from Bajaj Boxer works on AVL. That's what RE mechanics say.

Re: Ignition Coil - Machismo AVL 350

Went to Sharda Motors, who quoted me Rs 560. Got it instead from another Enfield Spares Dealer for Rs 280 - exactly the same one.

Anyways, the issue wasn't even the ignition coil, but messed-up wiring.

Carb for Machismo AVL 500

Bikers please advice.

I own a Machismo AVL 500 and of late have been experiencing this problem (at times not always) it feels like there is no fuel in the bike and it th engine almost goes dead.

There was a crack in the rubber intake pipe which was replaced, after the replacement the problem has somewhat reduced.
I think its a problem with the carb, my mechanic is of the same opinion.
The stock carb is a CV BS29, are there any other options?

Any help will be appreciated.

Does this happen when you throttle at higher speeds? or at all kind of speeds? if at high speeds i read somewhere that it seems to be something with the petrol on/off knob. It seems the washer expands and it can be a cause.

Anywayz, where in hyd do you get your bullet serviced. I'm looking for a reliable mechanic, most of them are too busy to pay attention and i need attention to detail.

p.s- Remove the petrol on/off fitting from the tank and re attach it. Let me know how it goes.

It happenes at higher speeds, let me check the petrol knob.

There's a mechanic beside Sanath Nagar Police station called Pavan, does a pretty good job, but he takes time.

Re: Ignition Coil - Machismo AVL 350

Lazyrider, I had a similar problem in my AVL. After checking carb, CDI etc we finally found out the problem was with the pick-up coil. Another friend had a similar problem and the issue was worn out wiring. So do check the electrical too.

@ madbullram/ anyone familiar with RE's Cdi,

could you guys say how the trigger(reluctor) for pulse coil was arranged on Cdi machine? Afaik pulse coil sits way off the rotor unlike Tci unit.
