Sorry snowmane. Had missed your post. There was no waiting period for me. I paid by draft and took the delivery within 15 mins without any prior bookings. I am still on temporary numbers. However the downside to it was that I got a 2012 manufactured one. So its better you wait a bit and take a 2013 one.

Thank You for your response.
Ten days have passed since I made the booking, however I am still waiting to hear from the showroom as to when I will have it.
Last week when I called, they said their truck is yet to be dispatched from HMC and they will call me as soon as it does.
I am not sure how their booking/delivery mechanism works but I hope that they deliver it in this week or the coming one.
As for yours, I suppose that dealer had it in his inventory so you did not have to wait, which is pretty awesome!!

Thanks Bluevolt
The final price was Rs 93480 including a one year extended warranty and Goodlife membership.

The final price in Pune is INR 89,424, that is more than 4K cheaper.
Maybe they have to keep it low since BAL bikes are cheapest in Pune!!
Got my bike's insurance renewed from Reliance for Rs. 700 with IDV of Rs.40,000.
From last few days whenever I start my bike via self starter, the trip meter and clock resets, No matter if engine is cold or hot. I have filled distilled water recently and used the bike for few hundred kilometers to allow it to charge fully but the problem is still there.
Bike is taking self though cranking is little slow along with trip/clock resetting.
Battery is stock - Amco brand which is now four years old. Over 16,000 KM on odo
What you guys suggest? Should I replace it now or use it until it dies permanently. What should be the perfect replacement?

Last year my ZMR which was 2years old then was also behaving like yours. If the battery is weak, the display goes off and trip meter will reset. Then when it went for servicing, they had charged the battery and it is now normal for a 2 years 9 months old bike.
I suggest you to give the battery for charge at service centre or local battery shop. They can check the battery and can tell you if it still has life in it or its gonna die.
However, looking at the age of your bike's battery, it will be good if you replace it.

One Suggestion!
Dont use the self anymore!
I am also in same state and was in dilemma what to do with this restting of the digital console. Initially it used to reset but now its worse. On pressing of the rear/front brake the whole speedo console goes ON and OFF. Horn is dead and so are the lights. The battery has reached its last stages are to what amount pf driving and external charging done it does not retain it. The self starter draws a hell a lot of juice from it!
Stock Battery (Amco), 4 years old and 22000 kms clocked.
Solution found is that the Battery DEAD! Replacing it with an Exide 7Ah for Rs 1150/-. Will post the result after replacement.
Anurag.
But I am still using self as it cranks the engine though little slowly!
I will now use kick only for starting till I get battery replaced.

Please use the kick starter till replacement. Initially you may have a blown fuse and later a kaput console.
Since the whole console costs Rs 9000 + for replacement it is better to kick rather than damage the speedo console.
I will change the battery tomorrow morning and post the details.
Exide is recommended or any other? Doesn't Amaron have a 7Ah in its portfolio?

Many people have used 9Ah Amaron completely sealed battery, one that comes in green color. Ask the battery guys about it and see what they say.
Few members on XBHP are using 9ah amaron battery, don't remember their IDs though.

In the Amaron website Under Hero Honda make the Model 'Karizma' does NOT exist at all.:Shockked: So got confused. Will check with both Exide and Amaron and give the feedback.
I hope there is no need to modify the battery holder or any such thing.
Which one is recommended Exide or Amaron?

There is no 7ah battery from Amaron and people usually go for 9ah Amaron battery if they have some high wattage headlight by some modification to the battery compartment holder.
I will still prefer 7ah battery only which is available from exide.
Where we can get the stock batery i.e. Amco? I am happy with it's four years + service life.

I am thinking of getting Amco battery in few days.
