Dear friends

Search feature didnt reveal any such thread, so starting one.

Have you experienced the joy of using good fuel? - my Palio 1.6 is a beauty, when given good petrol. Very silent, and even better pickup

Let's compile a list of pumps that reliably offer excellent fuel

Indian oil - Marine Drive, below flyover
Company owned pump. I've used it over 5 times, and excellent fuel every time.

Other company owned pumps not as good, from my experience.

Amit

Two pumps I swear by:

- IOC petrol pump opposite Siddhi Vinayak Temple, Prabhadevi. On the LHS side, when driving northward. This is my regular tank-up spot.

- "Vatcha petrol Pump" when taking a left on Peddar Road (north bound again) from Babulnath.

The Shell pump at Linking Road, Bandra, is pretty good too.

I use the Shell pump at Linking Road numerous times, and it is really quite good.

I don't know if this is the right place, but where do you Thane guys tank up? I suspect each and every petrol pump I visit :D

I am regular at the Majiwada BPCL. I have been filling at this petrol pump for the last 4 years and can vouch on their service and quality.
The only other station which i trust is the BPCL at Teen petrol pump.

Majiwada BPCL is good. The other one in Thane that's good is Kailash Service Station (Opposite Vihang's Inn on Godbunder Road).

The best one I use to prefer is the one opposite Dindhoshi Bus Depot - I think it's name starts with Taximen... This is a very good one.

The ones to avoid - every other bunk in Thane and Mira Road. The one opposite Vijay Sales in Borivali (W) is a suspect and so is the one at the Dattapada Junction @ Borivali (E).

The Bandra HP pump at the junction where Linking Road and SV road get segregatted is my safest bet since our ambbasador times . It is reffered as badaa pump. I don t think there might be much cheating stories there . They don't bother selling you premium fuels . Many pumps try to do the same

Guys,
I stay in Colaba, and I wanted to know a good reliable petrol pump that stocks regular diesel. Any suggestions?
Most of the pumps stock premium diesel, so I am having an issue with this.

Thanks,

You are right, about the above mention petrol pump. I am avoiding these pump all the time.

uday

Godrej petrol pump ,Vikhroli .I used to drive through the LBS from Kanjur Marg to Ghatkopar just to do a full tank at this petrol pump.

They used to have 97 octane petrol way back in 1995

I have my doubts on that one. There have been several notorious stories I have heard from there in the past, right since it was actually 'Shell'

It is now BP, unless it's company owned I wouldn't completely trust it. Although, it is the only place in Bandra that has Speed97.

I stick by my HP company owned pump on Bandra-SV road junction.

I stick by the Indianoil COCO at warden road. The one opposite (BP) is also very reliable.

Are you talking about the one on the W.E. Highway? On the corner of the left that goes to the East-West flyover?

If so, that pump used to be notorious for bad fuel. I would know, since I bought my car from Spectra, I filled my first tankful from there and got some ridiculous 8 kmpl or something.

Now it seems it has become a COCO, and is open 24 hours. I have been filling fuel for the past couple of times, since the location is damn convenient.

The one on LHS soon after crossing the worli seaface bridge near atria mall.

Yes. That's the one. I had a horrible experience on my earlier bike with that.
Doesn't matter if it has turned into a COCO - I will never venture close to it.

The other places where I had a bad experience were:

1. The bunk opposite to the new Kalpataru buildings on JVLR (the first one that comes up while going from Jogeshwari to Powai)
2. The one opposite IIT Main Gate
3. The one at Gandhinagar Junction on LBS Road.

I had a good experience at the bunk opposite Matoshree building and near Kamal Amrohi studio on JVLR - that is a very good one.

Cheers,
K Prasad
