Prakash Auto store (Milan subway)

Products sold:
Automotive spare parts.All kinds of spares for most Indian cars,from monograms to suspension kits

What I like:
Has good stock of genuine spares for all Indian cars on the road along with stuff engine oil etc.One can find spares which are not commonly sold in other stores eg needed a handbrake unit for my 800 which was not available in other stores but promptly found one at Prakash Auto.Even if they do not have your part they will procure it for you as soon as possible.Recently bought a accelerator pedal due to jamming of the same in my car.When inspected by the mechanic,fault was with butterfly jamming and there was no use of the pedal bought,so i called up Prakash auto and said if i could return the same,they said yes.I exchanged the pedal for bonnet hinges which needed to be replaced.

What I don't like:

They also stock spares which are not genuine in kind however they will let you know if it's a cheaper version.
Also parking your car close their shop is a hassle as it on the main road so you have to find alternate places to park your car.
Closed on sundays

Pricing: Reasonable.

Speciality / USP: Good stock of genuine spares.

What I have bought from him: All kinds of spares for my 800.From Air filter to front shockers.

Contact Information
-Name I really do not know the people by name
- Phone numbers: 26149979
- Postal Address: SV road, santacruz west
- Helpful landmarks / directions: Close to the Milan Subway signal

Yes, Definitely Reccomended.

Yes, Even I have had a pleasant experience with Prakash Automobiles. As I was sourcing for parts of my Baleno especially the LHS headlight. The same cost Rs.5K at Sai Service Andheri East, he got the exact same piece (Original) for Rs.1.5k. Dunno how but he did.

I attest the same.

Needed the cabin lamp for the Ikon which Bhavna Ford was asking for RS. 667/-.

He had the same for Rs. 175/- but offered to fix my old set up for just Rs. 75/-.

Even the Fan belt for my Ikon is at Rs. 500/- against the Company price of Rs. 1,667/-.

@Mortis - I haven't been to him for a while, but I guess he will have spares for most of the cars on the road.

If he can't help you, he will very well direct you to the correct place.

Re: Prakash Auto store (Milan subway)

called them up for Shell Helix Ultra or OWS engine oil and was quoted 3200 for 4 litre can on the phone; upon arriving there I was told that they do not keep OWS and the price for Shell is 900 rupee per litre irrespective of what i was quoted over the phone - i ended up not buying from them and ordered the oil from Neha Enterprise at 750 rupee per litre. this may be one off instance but surely left a bad taste.

Re: Prakash Auto store (Milan subway)

@infotech

Cheaper than neha enterprise is City Motors

Bought
0w40 for 800rs/ltr (mobil 1)
5w-40 for 700rs/ltr (Shell Helix Ultra)

Also City motors have all types of oil readily available which neha on some instance does not have.

And if you can ANY OWS seller in Mumbai then please do let everyone know.
Thanks

@all

Had 3 bad experiences with prakash motors 4-5years back he gave me fake parts on the name genuine parts for my Lancer and 800.
Hence i Dont recommend this place to anyone.

To each to his own.

Re: Prakash Auto store (Milan subway)

another instance:
bought winder+motor for driver side window and was told that i can bring it back if it did not fit or if it did not work. motor did not work when i did the fitting (they did not have any way to verify the motor before giving it to me, had asked for it) and now the shop owner is not ready to take it back and replace it and has asked me to wait for one week so that he could find out whether or not he'll replace it or take it back.

Re: Prakash Auto store (Milan subway)

@kailashnj

If you get down from keneddy bridge going towards churchgate side, you will get a signal the from that signal a road goes to a proper left one straight and one road goes tapering towards the left, take that road and go straight on the road and again take a second left.

Its a small lane with cars parked on both the sides and on the left side you will see many Accessories shop and to your right on the mid-length of the lane you will see City motors, the shop has two glass doors which are heavily tinted and outer wall of shop has black granite on it.

Hope this helps.
