Just check one post above yours :)

Any idea if m&m has plans to start bookings for AWD version? seems to have completely stopped bookings for awd after first round.

When I was booking mine at G3 Motors/Kandivili/Mumbai, they explicitly said that they were not offering the AWD version indefinitely (since that was the model I wanted).

Settled for the FWD A8 model.

Finally closed in on the deal. Got a message from dealer that if i am willing to pay the full payment they may give my XUV in 10-15 days flat. Went ahead with loan and negotiated very hard and applied for a loan of 8L @ 10.85% * 3years. Finished off the loan deal and went ahead and payed the margin money of around 6.9L exluding the insurance with the dealership. The dealership gave me a quote of 52k for a normal insurance from royal sundaram. When i shopped outside i had got a quote of 35.5k at future generali for normal and 49k for Bumper to bumper insurance. so decided to forgo the insurance from the dealership as i am saving almost 20k. The dealership were very professional and had no qualms about it and asked us to go ahead.

Keeping my fingers crossed to get the car soon

Congratulations on the new ride in advance, buddy!
Looks to be W8 varient, what color you chose!
Could you please let us know if that rate of interest is from Mahindra finance or some other bank!
I'm exploring the options apart from the vehicle lease and hence the question.
Thanks.

Yeah its W8 2WD variant. The colour is Satin white. the deal is from Axis bank arranged by the dealership. But you have to negotiate real hard.

geeash, congratulations!
Can you please share brake up of the total cost for the FWD W8?
The prices seem to have gone up significantly. Just want to verify my perception.

Congrats Geeash

Its a very good choice. I was considering the Xuv before buying Toyota fortuner. I had a test drive And was surprisingly pleased by its performance. Also looking at how its a VFM to for all those features. Only reason i went for TF was its brute look and AT variant. I think mahindra should have launched one of the 3 as AT.

ex showroom ( chennai)1322720

Registration 208408

Insurance ( dealers quote) 52337 which i am not taking as i have got a quote of 33k from future generali

On road 1583465

Thanks ethan it is indeed VFM for all the bells and whistles that M&M is offering

Just a quick data point about the price of XUV:

Place : Ex-Thane (outside Octroi limit)

Then
Date : 1-Oct-2011
Basic Cost : 11,87,608
Insurance : 45,214
Registration : 95,659
-----------------------------
Total : 13,28,480

Now
Date : 11-May-2012
Basic Cost : 12,96,270
Insurance : 50,080
Registration : 1,56,202
-----------------------------
Total : 15,02,552

1. Basic cost itself has gone up by 1.09L (~9%)
2. Insurance up by 5 thousand Rs.
3. Registration costs up by a whooping 60 thousand Rs.
4. Overall in about 7 months, the on-road cost has gone up by 1.75L! Its 15 Lakh+ vehicle now!
5. The on-road cost in "with-Octroi" regions would be additional ~75 thousand, taking the overall on-road cost (in let's say Mumbai) to ~15.75L!

The registration cost increase could be a Maharashtra state specific phenomenon.

You can get zero depreciation insurance for 33k from royal sundaram for your XUV. Please get a quote from royal sundaram online and get a printout of the same and show it to the dealership and they will match the quote (I was also given a quote for 48k for my XUV before the price hike from royal sundaram and i got an online quote for 33k for zero depreciation insurance and showed them the printout they agreed to match the same). I think zero depreciation is any day better than normal insurance.

Does XUV come with tints on glasses from factory? Considering the large glass area of XUV, without sun film I feel it is very hard to survive in hot summer.

Thanks for the data, that's some inflation! Now its nearly 16 lakhs on road for the W8! A far cry from the 10-12 lakhs 'perception' when launched. Will this temper the demand ?

An XUV is good value, but is it a 16 lakhs car?
