I changed the brake pads today at Renault Cochin service. The total labour cost including the lathe work is Rs. 1,236 /- including tax. In my bill it is written as 'MICS LABOUR CHARGES'.

I've noticed earlier as well. Cochin costs are the lowest. Guess it is best to schedule a trip to Cochin area for major services.

One can use the money saved for vacation expenses ;)

Renault seems to have introduced another version of th 85ps with dual front airbags and ABS without alloys called RXL plus costs around 13 on road. so the ecosport price is going up and the Renault seems to be going down. If there is one more price hike of ecosport both would be neck and neck.

Yes this model was introduced sometime in Jan itself and is called RXL Plus or so 12.85OTR Blr. Only when i asked did the SA speak about this model. Has 2 airbags, ABS/EBD, Front fog lamps, roof rails, 2 DIN music system ( no touchscreen), no alloys, no leather seats among others. In my view a model that should have been there from the beginging. With the new price hike of Ecosport, the top end diesel would be almost RXL Plus price. Good luck Ecosport.

Sounds interesting. But is there a model to replace the back lights as well which are a little smaller? If I go white I would like to go white all around!

Took the duster right across little rann of kutch. 60 kms of offroad and at places we touched 110. Awesome experience, will post detailed trip record after i complete my full trip. The car just handled right.

Hi Suchit. Mine is RXE and has only one LED in the front, above the ORVM.

If you can post a pic of the rear light in your car, I can tell you whether it can be replaced by similar LED. I think it should be replaceable. I would completely vouch for the LED - its much more comfortable than the gloomy fluorescent bulb.

Duster Adventure launched at Auto Expo, @ 12.18 lakhs ( ex showroom Delhi)



The Adventure variant of the Renault Duster is essentially a kitted out model of the SUV. Mechanically, the Duster Adventure variant retains a 1.5 liter K9K turbo diesel engine that outputs 110 PS of peak power and 248 Nm of peak torque. The gearbox is a 6 speed item that drives the front wheels of the SUV.
Adventure variant, would have:

• Smoked finish for headlamps
• Front bumper inserts with driving lamps
• Cladding on the flanks
• Gunmetal grey wheels
• Revised seat fabric

Completed 10,000 kms for my white duster in just two months. I have completely enjoyed my ride and have done several trips. I will be going for my first major service any tips for the same will be really helpful.

I got my 10K service done last month. I had faced slight sponginess while braking at low
speeds. So I got the bleeding done and I find the driving a wonderful experience now. I
also got the rattling of doors fixed. If you had not done wheel balancing and alignment done
at 6K, may be this is the time. Of course in Bangalore I got it done at Madhus who are
specialists in that. Hope these help some way. Cheers

Duster 4x4 variant to debut this festive season - expected launch Oct -Nov 2014.

The 4 wheel drive system of the Duster 4X4 will feature a Haldex clutch. The 4X4 system will have three modes: 2H which is the default front wheel drive mode, 4H which can be engaged if the situation demands and an auto mode that will automatically deploy the 4H four wheel drive mode if it detects wheel slip.

I need advice on buying the Duster( I am not a auto expert but have been doing some research and i am thoroughly confused) It has struck a cord with me somewhere. But now i am confused. My budget is max 10 Lakhs. I will be buying it through CSD
1. Now will the 85 BHP diesel vehicle suffice for me. I have seen the forums but couldn’t get a satisfactory review on the petrol versions. My family has two adults and two children. Mostly driving to city on weekends and may be 3-4 times a year for a weekend getaway somewhere. I have 2004 Tata Indigo diesel which had done 70,000 km’s. I am not a pedal happy guy or a racing guy. Generally drive at around 100- 110 on highways. Personally feel above that Indian roads are not safe with animals and pedestrians crossing over except for a couple of expressways. My main concern is for the children who sit behind and that the lateral roll should be minimal and they shouldn’t feel motion sick ( a very important issue in fact). I had once driven in back seat of scorpio and I don’t know whether it was the drivers driving skills or the car but i was really sick.
2. My second query is that I would like to at least have the ABS as a safety feature and if possible a integrated Nav system with reverse cam and Music system. How do I go about it?
3. Also wasn’t Renault going to launch the face lifted version of the Duster at Auto expo? Does anyone have any firsthand account of that? Personally I feel for the price the features are lacking but then this buy is going to be a buy from the heart.
4. What is the various permutations that the experts in this forums advise me.

Waxeloquent, what did they do to fix the door rattling?

@7K ODO, I hear squeak from the rear right door at times while driving without passengers in the rear.

Do I need to wait till 10K service or just show up with the complaint at the Renault Whitefield?

I think that rattle may be because of the lock lever playing with the door lining. And they may be fixing that part. (Just my thoughts). Since I have both the inner and outer linings covered by damping material I don't hear any rattle.
