Does anyone have pictures of the base diesel 85 hp RXE model interiors? As per the brochure they are all black without the beige dual tone combination. Even the dashboard is all black it seems.

Another query on the base RXE model. Do the rear seats fold? The TBHP review says he's but the Duster brochure says no.

I am in exact same dillema right NOW! :)

I had 10.5L IDV for last year's Future Generalli 0 dep insurance.
Premium = 23K

This year I had one claim.

Now, with 9.5L IDV, with FG I am getting premium = 26K

with HDFC ERgo, I am getting 8L IDV, with premium 20K!!

What did you conclude last time you had this problem?

Your inputs will help!

Thanks,

Ace.

Sorry, Just now I saw your post.

I insured (Zero Dep) my 2012 85 RxL(O) with National Insurance for ~15K premium for an IDV of 9.1L on adding 1 year NCB (I had a claim 1 year back)

Hi,
please find the pic, this is of RXL Diesel, but according to me interiors are exactly same for both the variants.

Remapped my Duster85 @ Code6 Kochi last week. It's a stage1 map with EGR off.
The car just takes off in all gears now. Need to be extremely careful with the A-pedal inside the city :)

I couldn't do any highway drives after the remap. Will post a detailed review after clocking some Kms.

Thanks GTO for the amazing review!! But sorry read it now..
Duster as it is said in the review is an excellent car for all road conditions as well as long drives and city usage. Its short turning radius also helps in some U-turns. The ground clearance makes it a standout in this segment. I had also test driven the Ford Ecosport at the same time when buying a Duster but the ride quality and comfortable space for 4 made me go for the Duster although the interiors and other dynamics were better in Ecosport. Also the maintainance is comparatively low where you have to give for service in a year unlike 6 months. After 1 year of owning it and having driven 20k kms on almost all terrains I definitely do not regret buying a Duster!

What's the new claimed BHP and Torque figures? Also do they have a remap for the 110 Bhp version too? Considering its already a different state of tune of the same 85bhp engine? If so, what's the claimed figures of this tune?

Guys, can we make a list of all the parts, systems that have been or need to be replaced by the company, in the initial batch of cars from 2012.

I'm sure one can not know the nitty gritty of all the memos being sent to the dealers to change the part if a customer comes. If we can compile a list of the changes being done, all of us would get the advantage.

Doc

Interesting. Do you feel any improvement in the NVH levels of the 85ps engine ? I for one am an owner who's not so happy with anything other than the fuel economy delivered by 85 ps engine.

The claim is ~100bhp and 250nm of torque. They do have remap for 110bhp including AWD. I am not sure about the claimed figures for 110 remap.

I am yet to observe any significant difference in NVH after remap. I am also yet to test it on highway speeds. I have driven it for around 200kms now after remap (all city driving with some test drives @ Container Road). I was really surprised by the performance difference till around 100kmph. It will take off with wheel spin in 1st and 2nd gear if you use A-pedal aggressively.

The mid-range has improved significantly and can surprise some more powerful cars easily.

They said that if they have two or three cars for remapping, they can come to cities like Pune or Kolkata

Sounds great. But a few noob questions : Won't we lose warranty by remapping? Also will it in anyway adversely affect the longterm performance of the vehicle?

I spoke to the Code 6 guy and had posted the following questions to him.

1) Will the warranty be void of the remap is done?
2) Will the mechanicals of the 85 bhp model be able to accomodate the extra claimed 100bhp and 250nm torq?

The warranty will get void if the ASC comes to know about the remap, but the guy says its difficult for them to identify the remap in the first case. Further as a precaution he says that the original mapping will be saved with them and can put it back for a interim period whenever we go for the service. This it seems will be at no extra cost.

On the second query, he says the 85ps model is not actually built for taking in the additional Bhp and torque and hence he suggests to get the vehicle serviced at 7k mileage instead of the 10K mileage. This early service is as a precaution due to the extra heat and strain on the mechanicals the 85ps would have to undergo.

I am skeptical on the remap post these comments as I doubt problems may surface in the long run. The quote I received was 28K for 85ps model.
