as per reports , honda has started production of new jazz at the rajasthan plant .

some 600 vehicles have already been produced . launch expected in march 2015 .

shall be a tough competitor to i 20 . especially the petrol ones as they have more power . some 89 bhp compared to i 20 .

should wait and watch the interesting battle between the two, in the b + segment.

Honda could had tapped the opportunity if they launched Jazz in 2014 itself. Hyundai utilised the opportunity very well by launching the Elite i20. Jazz must be competitively priced to beat the sales of Elite i20. With Maruti planning to launch the premium hatchback, it will be interesting to see the competition among these three in B2 premium segment. As of now, there is no competition for Elite i20 and Hyundai happily banking on it even with a four month waiting period.

Willing to present a rendering of another competitor to i20 - the Maruti yra. (Will it be called Baleno?)

While Jazz will compete in terms of refinement and power with i20, the new yra will compete in terms of fuel efficiency.

Though slated for a late 2015 / early 2016 launch, this car with all new 1 litre turbo charged engine will be the most fuel efficient amongst the three. Will be interesting to see the sales of these three.

Oh boy, IMO I just hope Maruti folks don't actually end up designing the car as it has been rendered here !!:Shockked:

It really looks like 'Cross Pollination Gone Horribly Wrong' !! stupid:

Well I hope they launch Jazz..YRA et al. soon else there will be too many Elites on the road. Don't want to lose the exclusivity so soon

In fact I recommend go for Polo ..Figo ..Vento.. Avnetura ..they all good cars hey clap:

Congrats on your booking. I too have booked the same petrol variant. I made my booking on Dec 27th. Since I insisted on a 2015 car, they said they'll know how long it takes only from Jan onwards. Spoke to my Sales consultant the day before yesterday and he said new 2015 cars might be coming in any day now and that he would give me the engine no / chassis no by the weekend. clap:

This after they initially quoted a delivery date around Feb 15th. I really think if your equation with the sale consultant is good, they might just be able to get your car sooner. And regular follow up from your end might help.

Drive Safe.

I think follow up might help, but then I do not have any other pull with the showroom, I think I am going to have to wait till the decide to allocate a vehicle to me.

I spoke with a customer who took delivery of his I20 on the day that I booked it and he told me that he got it in 2 months.

Congratulations on your purchase. Did you think of Asta diesel? Feeling petrol to be little underpowered.

Well, my daily running as of now is approximately 30 odd Kilometers, I think spending for the diesel version will be overkill.

Yes, understandable. The wait can be quite agonizing. Just got my engine number / chasis number today and might just get my hands on the car by end of next week. Fingers crossed. Have you asked any other showrooms in your city? Or are they all quoting the same 4 months? I booked my car at Hyundai Motor Plaza here in Chennai and from what I heard apparently these Hyundai Motor Plazas have a higher priority in getting cars, a larger allotment of vehicles and also they get to pick what variants/colors they want in the allotment of vehicles. Hence their delivery of vehicles tend to be quicker. If there is a HMP in your city, give it a shot over there. Also could you post a break up of the prices you were given for the car?

Yes your choice seems wise. Same case for me too.

One of the ways hHyundai can think about withstanding competition from jazz is to quickly bring in tgdi engine . This turbo charged 1 litre gasoline engine was showcased in Paris motor show and will be available for European i20 models soon.

If they get that turbo petrol in India, it is going to pretty much annihilate the completion, the only fly in the ointment in the i20 is the lacklustre petrol engine along with lack of safety features (ESP,6ab). I'm guessing they might bring the turbo with the AT and make it an Asta(o) with all the bells and whistles, 6 airbags, DRL's, projectors etc.
Or the stupid i20 cross will get the features.

Yes . I also read in the review that hyundais 1 lit engine produces 125 bhp .theyalso have developed 7 speed automatic .combining both and giving an asta optional will be gr8 . Now also hearing that honda has lined up 1 and 1.5 turbo engines for india . So good fight will be there between the turbos of hyundai honda and suzuki

I checked with just one dealer, I am thinking of going to another one tomorrow and see what kind of average delivery time he says, I might shift the booking to him if it is considerably less.

The break up of the pricing is as follows:

Price Ex-Showroom: 6,96,421
Insurance : 28,742 -- I told them that I will take care of this
RTO Stuff : 63622
Handling Charges : 6300
Registration Number Place : 6019 -- This is too much IMHO

I am going to ask the dealer for my Booking ID, is there any way I can keep a track of it? I have a feeling that people with connections are going to pull strings and get their work done and I might keep getting pushed to the end of the queue.

Thanks.

I saw a couple of photos of YRA, it seems to be designed somewhat on the lines of the new BMW X1, don't you think?

Also, going by the looks I think its going to be priced higher than the I20 Elite. I hope it does not turn out to be another Kizashi for Suzuki.

Just my $0.02

Suzuki has bigger plants at india and hungary . This particular yra is also planned for exports to europe . Also there were lot of talks between suzuki india ,japan and hungary for providing a luxury hatch . It definitely wont turn out to be kizashi .

People are finding 8-9L OTR cost of Ei20 too much for a hatchback as it is. I don't see how pricing another hatch above that will help anybody. Unless of course, you are talking some serious BHPs in return. But that will be a different segment and is a completely different topic of discussion.

I bought my elite i20 sportz petrol on 28 December. Since I was intially told I would get delivery in feburary and then the SA informed me that they had a cancellation and could benefit by saving on the excise hike, I did most of the paperwork within 3 days. In this rush I forgot to get insurance quote from outside. Now it so happens that I receive a copy my zero dep insurance which I purchased from the dealer from ICICI lombard. The insurance policy shows a preimiun of Rs. 18,500. Whearas the delaer charged me Rs. 22,500 and I have a debit note to that effect.

Do you think there is a way I can have the delaer refund my money. They sold me the insurance saying its all cost of insurance. Or is it that now since I have piad the money there is nothing I can do.
