Dear friends. With immense pleasure I am informing that I have also joined the XUV Club by buying a 2016 October Pearl White W6 XUV from Mahindra First Choice by exchanging my Fiesta 2007 SXI. The Vehicle is in very good mechanical and cosmetic condition. It is seen that a Fastag by Mahindra is fixed on the windscreen of the car. But there is no mentioning of usage of this fastag in the users manual. Hence I am confused about the usage of this fastag such as recharging/activating of this tag, changing the ownership details in the fastag account etc. I would be grateful if any one can any one help me to overcome this situation.

XUV 500 W3 new variant to be launched which undercuts Tata Harrier with a huge margin. Tata Harrier success effect ? Harrier has sold more than xuv 500 in April month.

Venkatesh.H :)

Was looking at the price list of the XUV500 post addition of the W3 model, and was surprised to see that the W11(O) AWD AT variant has been discontinued or due to some reason is missing from the official prices list at the moment. It was priced at Rs.19,58,346/= earlier.

The W11 variant finds no mention in the new brochure, even though it exists in the price list. Attaching the recent price list, and brochures of last year and this year for reference.

There one option for a front parking sensor listed the optional accessories list of XUV. But it seems it has LED indicators only (yellow/red) and doesn't display distance in cm or ft. Has anybody used this and without the gap display ? Would it be useful to figure out precisely how much gap is there between the bumper and the object near the front blind spot areas ? Please advise

Regards

Yes I have the front parking sensors (2 ultrasonic sensors + the visual indicator leds) installed in my XUV. It provides LED display along with beeping sounds (beep frequency increases as you get closer) with a switch to turn the beeps on or off (no volume control).
It is useful in tight parking situations. When the leds turn red (indicating you are about to hit the object) you will still have around 6-8 inches left.

just renewed 3rd year insurance of my XUV through HDFC Ergo, costed me Rs 33117, ncb was 0, IDV 1100000, including zero depreciation, rsa, engine + gearbox protection and consumables.

I feel this is too high. I renewed mine with Tata AIG (after comparing apple to apple options/coverage with HDFC Ergo) and I ended up paying 29K for 2018 W11 with IDV of 1700000.

Hi Guys ! I dont know if the thread is relevant. I want to add a recliners leg rest kind of a thing to my XUVs middle seat because of my mother's sciatica problem so that her legs rest on it while we are on long drives. Any suggestions or creative ideas? The more its integrated onto the seat the better it would be... Thanks

Posting this Querry on behalf of a friend who owns a XUV 500 W6 2015

Suddenly the Head unit stopped working i.e , Display and Audio are not working but AC works fine.
Dealer suggested whole console replacement which costs approximately 70k

What could be the issue ? any pointers for places in Bangalore where it can be corrected ?

Thanks in Advance

There are actually three separate parts for the Infotainment system - the screen, the silverbox and the button-bank module.

Nothing typically goes wrong with the buttons. The screen or the silverbox might malfunction, but unlikely that both would go bad together. Both of these can be repaired at an authorized Nippon service center and the quote would be significantly lower than "repair" bill at Mahindra service center.

As per my understanding, the 70k quoted is for "replacement" of both the screen and the silverbox.

I would recommend taking it to the Nippon center first.

Jokers. One can buy a pre-owned Santro in that amount in very good condition. Check with Nippon service station like SDP said. If they give up - ask your friend to visit a reliable accessory store. Throw out the stock unit together with its housing cowl. Install Sony XAV AX-5000 unit in place of the OEM one. It has android auto/apple car play, rear camera input, is fully compatible with stock steering mounted audio and phone controls also. I'm quite sure there will be compatible aftermarket cover panels for the dash available to integrate it. XUV500 is a very popular car and such accessories are not hard to find at all even online. All of this won't cost him more than 20k with bill and SONY warranty!

Mahindra XUV5OO prices increased – the fully loaded diesel automatic AWD and Petrol variants discontinued.

The discontinuation clearly indicates that demand for diesel automatic AWD and petrol variants has been week.

Now I have a query here. There is supposedly a new edition of the xuv 2020 based on the ssangyong korando due for launch next year. From initial impressions the korando looks and feels good and hopefully will prove to be a good platform for the already good xuv. My query to the gurus is how good do you think is the 2020 xuv going to be? I mean will it be better than the current gen xuv or will it be like the Alturas- soft and mushy- losing the quintessential xuv character.

Put simply if someone is to buy the xuv who appreciates its dynamic nature, should he buy it right away or should he wait for the next gen. ( ps- we all know who HE is)

Saw this today in Bangalore. Does it mean BS6 edition will be launched in current avatar and the entirely new one will come later next year?

I have been noticing off late on the current gen XUV5OOs of this year, I wonder why the 5-O-O aren't getting properly aligned on so many new cars? Such ultra-tiny lapses in finishing after engineering such a good product is what makes Indian car makers lose out on "fit and finish"! Here are a couple of samples -

These samples aren't that bad, but I have seen worse while driving.

Can be either - we cant say. They can use the existing body to simply tune & test the new spec engine. Probability though is more that the existing one will become BSVI ready first. The next gen doesn't seem production ready yet in any test pictures. Near Q3 2020 would be more realistic target to see that one on showroom floors.
