I had a similar squeak from the seat base when 'getting-in' and 'getting-out' of the seat. At the 70K service they applied grease on certain points on the seat base, the squeaks were gone.

Sree73, like Anurag has suggested, the lubrication of seatbase will most probably solve the issue. I was having the very same problem in my S-Cross also. A very irritating squeaking sound from the Driver's seat while taking turns or over bad roads - the frequency of which went up from rare to occasional to very frequent over the last 6 months.

I had to visit the Service Center recently for another issue and I pointed out this. The service manager asked the worker to use a 3M lubrication spray and told me that that will solve the issue. I was not convinced - I thought something needs to be tightened or fixed - Hence, I was adamant for a test drive after the lubrication is done. We then went for a decent test drive over broken patches and bad roads - the sound was gone. I have done over 1700 kms after that in all conditions - the sound has not returned yet. Touch Wood!

Thanks Vigkey. I will try this. If the lubrication of seat base helps, nothing like that. As you said, the frequency of this squeaking sound has become more frequent now and it's really irritating.

Just spray WD40 onto the sliding and lift mechanisms, it will take care of all 'squeaks'!

Wonder why Maruti hasn't incorporated SVHS tech in S-Cross. It would help them lower the tax bracket and attract more customers.

Thanks guys. I was very much inclined towards the Ecosport titanium+ for the solid build and 6 air bags. Interiors i agree were a little cramped at the rear bench. I still feel the 1.5 TDCi is one of the most drivable units in city traffic and highways due to its linear power delivery.

But, now considering all the pros and cons like long term support(as im looking at a vehicle for atleast 7 or 8 years) and the very good follow up by NEXA(they came to our home atlest 4/5 times and offered pretty long test drives whenever we wanted. Here i would also have to mention that the FORD showroom staff at Vizag were pretty damn professional as well and gave us a very good demo and test drive experience) and also considering that scross is infact a segment higher than ecosport, we booked a 1.3 ZETA in white.
We have informed the RM from NEXA that we would be taking the delivery sometime in December or for PONGAL. (hoping that some other discounts are thrown around in December and also im in middle of a relocation and job swap and dont really need a car right now)

Im looking at paying about 7L downpayment and take the rest 5L on loan. NEXA says SBI is the best bet which i might want to agree on.

A wonderful car to drive in city as well as highways.

I do own the same 1.3 Zeta in Granite Grey. Done more than 20K KMs in last one year. I have done quite a number of long drives on 1.3. It has enough power for highway drives.

Congratulations, I own a 1.3 Zeta in Granite Grey. Upgraded the mirror to auto day light mirrors and the loan is from SBI as an over draft account, so I get more flexibility than regular car loans.

would you able to tell me how much the auto irvm costed?
Also, what about the steering leather wrap? is there any decent steering wrap offered by NEXA or aftermarket is the way to go?

Our deal with NEXA includes the basic accessorries and leather seat covers which i guess my father agreed to pay for about 5000 (they said they costed 12k+5k for basic accessories).

Any other accessories that i need to be looking at for the Zeta? (As, before the delivery is when i would be able to bargain the best for any sort of accessories from my prior experience. Once the vehicle is delivered its always the MRP on any accessory price)

As im currently posted in bangalore, my father has been taking care of all these activities for me as i wanted to get the car in Vizag. I would be taking it to Hyderabad to where i would be relocating back to.

I have installed fog lamp projectors from Xenon Planet and the output is massive. It is a bixenon projector and has both high and low beam. Output is miles ahead of stock headlamps and I was shocked as the fogs are placed lower.

Details to follow soon, just one pic for now :D

Wow. What an output :). Really lights up the road ahead very bright. Is this only the fog lamp output or along with head lamps also?

This is high beam output of both stock headlight and XP micro. Stock headlight high beam was just average.

19.5K is for the full kit which includes projectors, bulbs, shrouds, harness and ballasts. 9000 Rs is for a pair of Mini D2S 4.0 projectors. I have Alpha variant and did not want to open stock headlight assembly. So I went for XP micro projector as replacement for stock fog lamps and very very impressed with the output.

Thanks Naren. I'm looking for a plug and play Projector assembly upgrade for my 1.3 Zeta.(May not be possible in Zeta as it is not with projector). Have contacted XP on their Whatsapp number. Prefer Mini D2s 4.0. Do you have any other suggestions?

Also, where exactly is their Bangalore facility?

Mini D2S 4.0 is a very good option. It has good build and very strong high beam. You can also upgrade to OEM D2S bulbs like Osram NB/CBI/CBH.

Mini D2S 4.0 wouldn't require cutting of reflector and an easy fit. If you do not want to open stock headlight assembly, go for XP micro as replacement for stock fog lamps :).

That is exactly what I meant when I told you that after TD-ing both cars, you would automatically go with the S-Cross for all the reasons you mentioned. I would like to also advise you to go for the Alpha variant if your budget allows for it. With bi-xenons, leather upholstery, auto-headlaps & auto IRVM you would be getting all of your money's worth. It is next to impossible to replicate the feel of Alpha's leather-steering. I drive a Zeta and would have gone for the Alpha if I could stretch my budget. Also, your math seemed to be a bit off there. The 1.3 Zeta costs 11L OTR instead of 5+7 that you mentioned. 😁

Sunejarahul. India is not Delhi alone.:)

There are many places in India where 1.3 Zeta costs close to ~12 Lakhs. One among them is Bangalore. It all depends on the regional road tax and other levies.
