Thanks @aargee. That helps. :thumbs up
Will post if I have more questions about S-Cross.

Getting 20 on highways is easy. Only once when I was on an extended run at 110-115 kph did it return 19.5.

At 80 the RPM will be 1750~1800. I measure it T2T as well. Most of the time the MID will be almost close to T2T. I know an other Scross(Pre facelift 1.3) that gives 22kmpl but 28 is too good. clap: |
You have to read his response to Reinhard in the previous page, he reset MID on hitting the highway. I've seen mine settle at 27.1 over a 200 km run refueling on the highway. This will not maintain over a full tank on an extended run. The best run I've had in year of ownership is 923 km @ 22.3 km/l.
Hello All,
One of my friend is planning tyre upgrade on his S-Cross 1.3. He plans to upgrade to 215/60 -R16.
The stock size is 205/60 -R16. Are there any recommendations for or against the upgrade and if for, then which tyres would be best suited? He is currently planning for Michelin Primacy 4ST.

Hi, I recently upgraded the tyres on my Scross from Michelin P3ST 205/60 R16 to Bridgestone Turanza T001 215/60 R16. It's been 3000 kms since the upgrade and the Bridgestone's feels the same way as P3ST but with slightly more grip and stability. It's also silent so far. I believe there might be some Speedo error but I'm willing to live with it.
When I was in the market for a new set of tyres in August 2019, P4ST (205/60 R16) was not available anywhere in Chennai. Hence opted for the Bridgestone.

I went to Madhus today to get the alignment and balancing. After the beam was replacement I have covered 3000km and the rear tyres thread deapth
now is 4mm which was 4.5mm when the beam was replaced.
Maruti didnot give me any reports of before and after readings when they replaced the beam.
The only report I got from Maruti was when they changed the rear tyres(20000km) and as per Maruti evrything in the report was good.(Still my tyres wore out:Frustrati).
At Madhus today they confirmed me that there are no issues and readings seems to be fine, though there are few readings that are in Red. Posting today's report.

I guess they meant the adjustable parameters are fine. Only the front toe is adjustable in S-Cross.
Rear left toe is not within the normal range in your car. I am surprised that new beam did not solve this. As per S-Cross service manual, you need to check the vehicle body for damages next.

I did ask them about the rear values and I was told that it's on the positive side so it's all good and there are no issues with the rear axle.
Service center has already checked the vehicle body for damages before changing the rear beam. I am trying to find the WA report from other Scross face lift owners to compare and I will update the thread once I get any.
Took the Scross to Tirthan Valley last weekend. Also climbed Jalori Pass. clap:
The overall FE was at 18.5 KMPL. Total KMs ex-Delhi was 1190 KMs.
Just 12 KMs short of hitting 120k KMs mark.

Tirthan valley is a great place to be. I had been there last year in my Vento Diesel. Stayed in a home stay "Himalayan home stay". The valley is a great option for someone who wants to explore areas apart from Manali - which has been heavily commercialised. Mine a 1.6 TDI Vento, which also returned a similar mileage of ~19 kmpl. Given, i was able to do the circuit with Vento, The across having a much better ground clearance would have had no issues at all.
By the way, is your's the 1.6 litre diesel scross?
Got the 80K service done yesterday. Software updated to 1770 version.
But, after this update, Android Auto is not launching. With the parking brake applied, and the AA is launched from head unit, the head unit gives a message "please accept the Android auto disclaimer on your phone". But, such an option is not getting displayed on the phone. What could be the issue? It was working perfectly before the update.
Phone is OnePlus 5T.

Am not sure of the problem. But you could do a clear storage on Android Auto. You have to grant all permissions and stuff, overall effort shouldn't be more than 2 mins.

Thanks Narayan for the quick response. I had done this (clearing the cache and the permission for the app is complete). But, not able to get it working. Was successful on all previous occasions where the app got updated/software got updated.
Exploring further and will update if successful.

I meant Clear storage (usually some 50-60 MB gets stored). It'll basically be a reset for Android Auto.
For starters you can Clear Storage and launch Android Auto standalone, do all EULA stuff and permissions before plugging in.
Next, when you are getting the accept EULA on HU, does Android Auto show up on your status bar? It is notoriously sensitive to cables, and AA will crash out due to this reason. The symptoms are that Android Auto shows up on the head unit and doesn't respond to your touch inputs.
I bought an original cable from the store that's only used in the car for this cable sensitivity reason :Frustrati
Mine is a stock Oneplus 5.
I hope yours isn't rooted, because the more recent versions Android Auto simply doesn't launch. Tried with a rooted Galaxy S7 for AA Mirror a few days and gave up due to lack of time lol:

Me also with stock Oneplus 5T and original cable.
Clearing storage also didn't work
As a final option, uninstalled the AA and then installed again. It worked.
Thanks for the support Narayan
Hi folks! Brief updates on my 1.6 Zeta @50,000 Kms :-
Mods:- First to go were stock JK Elanzo, swapped with Michelin 215/60 R16. Road grip, ruggedness and comfort levels are classy. Next was HL and found Osram Laser Night Breaker of stock wattage have marginal but noticeable improvement. Though personally averse to night drives but then at times a night drive could be inescapable requirement.
Drives: Highway drive is the area where 1.6 DDiS excels peers and dominates large range of vehicles on road today. This is where it belongs to. Torque wave is fascinating:D. And it excites and exhilarate every time on a highway. Thankfully my 90% drives are confined to highways. High speed behaviour complements very well with engine capability. Brakes are good especially at sub legal speeds but still feels some better brakes could have been icing on the cake. Buoyed by 320 Nm if you opt for 0-100 competition it can let you down thanks to torque limiter in two lowest gears and tall gearing ratio. Car is interesting combo of FE and performance. Many 1.6 owners in my loop have remapped their cars and enjoying oodles of torque. At 1265 kgs this car is already fun to drive. Remap is further shot in the arm! Wolf guys are definitely famous with 1.6 DDiS owners. So far able to resist the temptations of remap. May be I have found the way to work up engine as per requirement or I haven't driven a remapped option yet.
Niggles: So far so good. There were two spurious CEL alerts till date. Earlier brake switch was replaced under warranty. Recently rear set of shockers gave way and were replaced under warranty. Thanks to EW. Feeling of hard front suspension but these did pass the litmus designed by Maruti in the form of Tester Lane. So I have to live with these for time being. Off and on some rattles are present.
