Yup, most of the C1-upwards vehicles now have this blank which would have contained a center speaker abroad :-(
Even in the Octavia range, only the premium variant L&K has it, even the vRS does not as far as I know.

The max I got was 20kmpl on highways(90-100kmph) and I measured it full tank to full tank.
Really 28 is some unbelievable number. I don't think that number can be achieved at speeds of 80-90 kmph. My car does around 900 KM every week and the maximum average that I could get till today is around 22.3 and that too when I didn't go beyond 90 even once. Usually, in the Ludhiana-Delhi round trip, I manage mileage of 17-17.5 km/l because the speed is a little on the higher side.

My rear set of tyres(Only Rear Tyres) wear out almost 90% in just 20000 KM in my SCross facelift whereas the front set were still looking new.
A maximum of 500KM is what I have driven in City and rest in highways out of 20000KM.
I took the car to NEXA (Pratham Motors, Sarjapur Road) they have check the alignment, balancing, toe in, toe out and etc. and told me that nothing wrong with the car and they sent the car to the JK showroom to check if there is an issue with tyres and they can be replaced under warranty. JK rejected the claim saying that the tyres wore out evenly and this can not be covered under warrant.
At this point I am not worried about the warrant of the tyres and I wanted to know whey this is happening to rear set of tyres even if I change the tyres they may only last 10k or 15k KM and I can’t keep changing them that often. I started asking the nexa guys for root cause and the reply I was getting was “actually there is no root cause sir, everything is fine with the car”.
I have escalated the Matter to Nexa (18001026392/
contact@nexaexperience.com) and I immediately got the call from Mr. Althaf (Nexa Regional Manager, Bangalore) and I explained him what happened.
Mr Althaf was very polite and helpful and also assured me that he will get that issue resolved ASAP.
Then very next day the service center(Same Pratham Motors, Sarjapur Road) guys did pick my car and started looking into the issue again. Meanwhile Althaf was continuously updating me with the findings from service Centre but by end of the day I was told that there is nothing wrong with the car and they can’t provide me a root cause.
Althaf called me and said “for customer satisfaction they will change my tyres(Only Rear set) on 70-30 Basis” meaning 70% of the cost will be paid by Nexa and 30% by me and I have agreed for that.
Next day after the tyres are changed the car was delivered to me but I am yet to get an answer on why my rear tyres wore out faster.
I started looking for answers in internet and found nothing related to this.
I started using the car normally and meanwhile I have posted this issue in Facebook (Scross group) and there are many owners who are kind enough to respond.
Few of them actually had the same issue and the issue was fixed after the rear beam/ Axel was replaced under warranty- That’s a clue for me.
Two months passed by and I have covered an other 6000 KM and realized 50% of my rear tyres are gone again so the problem still exists.
I have replied on the same email thread which I used for the same issue in the first instance saying 50% of my rear tyres are gone again in just 6000KM, soon I hit the send button I got a call from Althaf and I explained him that issue still exists and he asked me to handover the car to the service center (The same Pratham Motors, sarjapur road).
The next day the service center guys did pick my car. After 2 hours I got a call from Service Centre and it was Mr Kanagaraj who is a QA there and is the same person who communicated with me in the first instance, who kept on telling me that “ Actually there is no issue with the car, everything is fine”.
Even this time he told me the same thing that there is no issue and only 0.5 mm of thread is gone in 6000KM which is good.
Then I asked him “what is the thread depth now ?”
He said “4.5mm and new tyre will have 5mm” this is when I blasted him and asked him to find out with his colleagues on thread depth.
Few hours later I got a call from him again and he said “Looks like there is some issue, we are not able to find out what the issue is and we are escalating this to Maruti”.
The car was in service center for 10 days and on day 10 they have replaced rear hubs and rear beam under warranty.
After the change I have covered 3000KM and I don’t see any significant change in tyres.
I need to cover few more thousand Kilometers to confirm that the issue is gone.
Pictures of the first set of tyres which covered 20K and the invoice of the parts that they changed under warranty.
Did anyone face the same issue with your can? And how was that fixed?

Old one had some issues as reported by Dr. Naren in his ownership thread where he got the beam replaced under warranty.
Naren
Not sure if anything has been reported regarding facelift one, new one, I need to ask my brother to see if there is any erratic wear of treads.

This is a known issue in old S-Cross. Maruti has modified the beam for facelift S-Cross. Please share your alignment report.

I had done the alignment at Madhus Bangalore and the rear right toe was much higher than normal. Nikhil had then suggested me to check with Maruti regarding rear beam replacement. I did get new beam from Maruti and the alignment is perfect now, I did get it checked again at Madhus :).

I don't have that with me now. I will try to find and share it asap.
Planning to go for S-Cross. I did go through some of many pages here running for years. Definitely 1.6 engine is missed. But I thought would put forward my requirement so it helps me to get your inputs so it helps me to get better idea about the S-Cross 1.3 MJD.
1. 5 passenger comfort
2. Power to cruising at 110-120 kmph without engine strain.
3. Service after sales. Parts availability.
4. Servicing cost.
Keeping my present car in my mind had put down my points.
If the whistle type sound is only audible when music system is on, then potentially there is a wiring issue. Popularly ok known as alternator whine.
Do you have any aftermarket addition to the ICE system ? Check wiring. 1 common cause is routing RCA cable on same side as amplifier power cable from battery.

Hi All!
I recently completed a drive, Gurgaon - Jim Corbett - Delhi, and the car returned 1240 Km, on 40 ltr of Diesel. This is a staggering 31 kmpl, based on my fuel warning light (starting at empty till empty again) and fuel filled (40 Ltrs). Most of the drive was extremely straight and empty roads at constant speeds. The more I drove on this trip... distance to empty just kept on increasing. Happy with how my SCross is going right now.

I tried it many times (80 kmph) but the mileage never went beyond 20kmpl. 80-110kmph I don't see much difference in mileage - it's almost the same be it 80 or 110 kmph.

Odd. On my petrol Ertiga I have exceeded 19Kmpl many times by running at 80 and keeping RPM below 3K. Above 3K it drops below 18kmpl which is expected for petrol. This is with T2T method and not MID reading on highways. Did you check the RPM reading while doing that? Diesel MUST get above 20kmpl.

At 80 the RPM will be 1750~1800. I measure it T2T as well. Most of the time the MID will be almost close to T2T. I know an other Scross(Pre facelift 1.3) that gives 22kmpl but 28 is too good. clap:
