Please focus on hood area. It doesn't sound like a mechanical noise but more of electronic one. Wonder if it's some circuitry!

I own a figo Titanium tdci , I too would hear a buzzing sound after the engine was shut, but could not really get to know the origin of the sound, when I opened the bonnet it used to vanish then again resurface after closing it. I dont hear it now though. I too would be happy to be enlightened on this.

I tried to listen very carefully in a relatively silent place but there is no sound that I can hear of. Do let us all know if you find the reason behind it.

Even I tried to poke around the hood to listen the sound but it was so quite. Several people gave me strange look though. May be because I do idling almost for 45 sec., that's why I could not hear it.

Your post got me curious. Is it recommended to idle before starting and after stopping? If yes, what is the recommended time for it? I usually do not idle as more often than not I am in a hurry, especially in the morning. Does it adversely affect the car in any way?

Yes! It is highly recommended to idle turbocharged cars like the Figo TDCi. Ideally speaking, 30-60 sec after starting and 30-60 sec just before shutting off the engine. Check out the following excellent post on the idling rule:

I'm getting the Figo Titanium+ Petrol for 6.70 OTR.
But I've heard that the petrol motor is very unimpressive and not as fun to drive as it should be when compared to Polo or Baleno.

Is that true ?

Yes the Figo petrol is nowhere as good as the diesel one. However the baleno petrol is quite impressive. Can't say anything about the Polo petrol since I haven't driven that yet.
On a slightly different note, could you please clarify whether Ford has already hiked it's prices post-budget like Maruti.

I own an aspire petrol and I can confirm that it is unimpressive at the lower gears. For example, if you come down from 3rd/4th to 1st gear in traffic and then accelerate, the engine will take 2 seconds to respond. But this can easily be overcome with a slight change in driving style. I just raise the throttle and use the clutch to get moving and it works fine.

Other than that it is a good engine. On highways it drives beautifully and can take on most cars, as long as you work the gears. It is super silent on the inside and outside, and you can easily extract the ARAI mileage if you wanted to.

It does not have the fantastic torque of the diesel figo though. I have driven the Polo petrol and there is not much of a difference. No first hand experience with the Baleno, but it is a dent magnet.

I am posting this on my friend's behalf who owns a new Figo [Hatch] purchased in the month of December 2015 from Harry Ford, Trivandrum. I am briefing the issues so far he has seen with his vehicle in terms of its quality. Firstly there was some white patches noticed on the door beadings which was brought to the attention of the dealer and Ford and till date no resolution have been provided to that and to make things worse now rust formation is seen in the three months old car in A pillars and engine bay[although not sure what part it is. I am attaching the pics here ] . A second email has been sent to the dealer and Ford describing the issue but he isn't expecting much from them as there is no resolution provided yet to him by the dealer or Ford for his first issue. Although he have received a few callbacks from Ford enquiring about the issue he had just received a single callback from the dealer enquiring about the first issue and he himself had to call up Ford each time enquiring about the follow up actions taken by them [if any :-(] although the dealer was addressed in every emails. He was asked by Ford to send the rust pics to them which have been emailed to them. Another poor service by the newest dealership in Trivandrum for Ford.

Forget the dealer and talk to the company. I have found them to be very responsive to complaints - it is up to you to be persistent and get the problem solved. Message them privately on their Facebook page - post the same issues with the pics and they will call you back. If they don't, then post it on their wall.

I used to know the manager of Harry Ford. As they are new in town, are seriously looking to get some customers from Kairali. The rust on door is surprising & not a good sign for a new car whatsoever the reason maybe. Will need some neat bodywork to fix it. Try opening the door trim to see how much the rust is? There could be water logging as you mentioned the rust is progressive. Keep posting your friend's experience with Harry Ford.

Completed first free service, SA mentioned to me that buzzing sound from hood is normal and is due to AC fan which is not cut off when engine is turned off. Fan apparently runs little longer and then auto cuts off.

That sound is normal I think. I too used to get it before cranking and after putting the ignition off. I did a ECU reset recently (for different reasons) and the sound is not there anymore. But I know it will return as the engine is still learning my driving style after the reset.

Perfectly normal if it is not very intrusive.
