Hi All,
Tata Tiago XT Petrol (2021) is suddenly losing power while driving, making it hard for the vehicle to move even in 1st and 2nd gears with accelerator pressed.
There are illuminated malfunction light and ABS light.
Last time when I encountered the same issue a week ago, the error codes were cleared by the service folks using the OBD and Laptop at TASS but the same problem came up again.
PS: It’s not getting solved by restarting the vehicle. |
Just go through this thread where the fuel pump issue is mentioned by a few tiago owners. See if it is same and proceed as per the suggestions given.
Tata Tiago sales cross 6 lakh unit milestone:
Tiago hatchback had launched in 2016 and currently gets petrol, CNG and EV powertrains.
Is the upcoming facelift only for Tiago EV or the entire Tiago range?
Also, there are no changes to the battery pack / range in the information shared for the EV version. So its mostly a cosmetic upgrade.
Hello everyone! My 2020 Tiago xz+ which has done done little more than 40k on stock goodyear tyres. It needs replacement, and I need help choosing tyres. About 80% of driving is done on Kerala highway and rest in panchayat roads. Goodyear tyres were comfortable but I am looking for something that could last a little longer and provide the same or more comfort. Also should I upgrade from 175/60 to 175/65. Suggestion and comments are welcome Thank you!

I recommend Continental UC6, preferably with an upsize of 185/65 (make sure they do not rub against wheel well under full load). My UC6 have done 45K and are much grippier and silent compared to all my previous sets (Good Years from factory, followed by Yoko Earth 1 which became stiff and noisy after ~30K).

Thanks for the suggestions.
Most of the travel is loaded with three people in the back and luggage. So I am not too sure about upsizing tyres
Tiago is slowly increasing monthly sales back to March'24 figures.
Aug'24-Oct'24 monthly average is 4500.
Nov-Jan'25 average is 5700.
With the recent facelift this should increase further. Tiago is an excellent product for its price. Only major actionable area is the 3 pot NA engine refinement. This too is gradually improving.

I recently changed the tyres on my Tiago. Called a couple of shops and got quotes for Ceat, Goodyear and Continental. Eventually chose the Goodyear Assurance Triplemax 2; got them for 5,200 a piece.

We changed our Tiago to Bridgestones some time back. The shop guy mentioned that these had less rolling resistance and lower noise. Both of which are fairly apparent when driving. Good purchase at about 5.2k per tyre.
Tiago has sold 7946 nos in Mar'25. This is their best sales in past 20 months since Aug'23 (9463).
Facelift effect?
I am experiencing an unusual sound from my 7yrs old tiago, a constant whining sound from left side of bonnet/engine which is audible only when I press the acceleration pedal. Any suggestion to mitigate this will be appreciated.
Hello Everyone,
I gave my tata tiago car for service to Sagar Motors Noida on 23rd of April and probably that was the worst decision of my life. I reached at around 9 and service advisor was more interested in adding unnecessary jobs to work order sheet,
1) Jobs like car lubrication, AC vent cleaning and UV protection and polish on exhaust system were added without any need
2) Till 2:30 PM my car was just getting washed. I took a day off for service and here half a day was wasted in just seeing my car getting washed.
3) A very incompetent mechanic who probably has never undertaken tough jobs was assigned to change timing kit in my car. Seeing him working I was sure that he has never opened bonnet of car forget about changing the timing belt. After changing the belt right in front of me he started the car and inevitable happened. There was lot of grinding noise and car shook like hell and died down.
4) Floor manager immediately requested me to move to visitors lounge and I kept sitting there till 8 when I was told that work needs more time and car delivery can be done on next day.
5) In the meantime before this started I had requested service manager to check the mountings and he gave me all good on all 3 mountings.
6) Next day I need to go to office and there was absolute silence from sagar motors end regarding status of my car
7) I was able to catch some senior member of tata motors and explained him the situation, he immediately called up GM service of sagar motors and there he confirmed that one of the injectors has conked off and they are getting that repaired.
8) There was no news on my car, although they have created a whatsapp group but there was only one way communication from my end.
9) Next day after many phone calls one member finally acknowledged that yes injector was gone bad and it was repaired and fitted into the car and you can take the car back.
10) I went running to Sagar motors next day and requested for a test drive before taking delivery. During test drive I noticed NVH has increased many folds, car is not running smooth and lot of jerks/noises were added up. I told the same thing thing but I need to leave for a long drive with family hence settled payment and took delivery of car 'Under Protest' with a note of same on whatsapp group along with various issues which I observed during test drive.
11) Inspite of service manager telling me personally that mounts are fine a note has been added stating customer refused to change mounts and link rod
12) I asked for job card from where injector work was done and it was not provided to me. Ideally it should be done with lucas but I suspect something fishy here.
13) In trip I observed that car NVH has increased exponentially, engine is running very rough and coarse, car is hesitant to touch high speeds, too much noises which were not present there.
So here I am sitting my car which has behaving very bad after service at an authorised dealership. Need suggestion from everyone regarding next steps that I can pursue or if some one can give email id's of bosses at tata motors, that will be great

8277 nos in April'25. Increasing trend shows that Tata has got the magical sauce right here!
I wonder if anyone remembers the earlier name Zica which was then changed to Tiago.
This was in view of the Zica outbreak in few countries. Well done Tata for a well rounded product.
