It was quite hard to find a less run, decent Hexa in today's market and its a wonderful offering from Tata Motors. Sad that they decided to axe this one, just to promote Harrier / Safari.

The previous owner does need special appreciation for keep both the interiors and exteriors in immaculate condition.
Also very hard to spot couple of scratches on the car which are obvious due to the size of the car and thanks to a city like Bangalore.

And yes, special mention to the MG used car Dealership too for some reasonable negotiation and arranging the key handover in a nice and cute way. The whole family was happy both with the car and the dealership.

Finally got the Engine and GearBox mounts replaced, and it has made a world of difference in the idling and engine response. The car feels so much more peppy to drive, and better fuel economy.

While at the TASS, i was asked to change the ATF and AT cooler. I asked why since its a sealed unit as quoted by Tata. There seems to be some general opinion that these must be changed if the car has done 50k kms. Have declined it for now.

Have to replace the 4 shock absorbers and steering rack next. There's some play in the steering and noise when going over bumps.

Windshield finishing trim is getting loose, so have sourced the clips from boodmo. Have to get it changed. The RHS trim came loose last year on the highway, so carrying a duct tape is now SOP. :-)

Please share the part details. I am facing the same issue while on the highway and I will need to change too. The issue started after I got the windshield replaced recently at Windshield experts.

Most Hexa Automatic owners including me have proactively changed both AT Cooler and ATF post 50k Kms. The AT Cooler is considered a weak link and its failure would result in coolant mixing with ATF rendering huge repair on AT gearbox, which most of us tried to avoid. That said, during my discussions with TML regional customer care manager in Bangalore, the cars that are mostly driven in stop and go traffic might be prone to this issue.

Interesting!! i started facing this exact issue recently, and it turned worse when i was driving at highway speeds during a recent lengthy drive. I had to stop a few times to correct it which was highly temporary in nature .

Once it got as bad- like half of it hanging and flapping around in the co-driver end, i just didn't realize due to music being played until my daughter who was at co-driver's seat pointed it out. I had to pull over and kind of hand removed the entire line and plugged it back in, and didn't face the issue since. Subsequently at any short stops, I made sure to check if its all intact, and luckily it was. That said, this is on my list to get corrected during my next scheduled service at TASS.

Let me know your experience with sourced boodmo clips, if you see the problem completely resolved.

When I inspected the car, to my utter shock an exhaust pipe was hanging and it was completely separated from catalytic convertor. I could not inspect the exhaust pipe as I was unable to go beneath the car. Corrosion might one of the reason for it. Does anyone in the group have faced similar issue with their Hexa. I enquired at service centre but SA informed me that it will not be covered under extended warranty. Should I show it to local garage and get it repaired by welding?

Rusting in exhaust and cat con is a common issue with Hexa. This is generally fixable with welding. Any competent workshop will be able to do this. Quick and inexpensive repair job.

Yes ! I had faced the same issue. It was discovered just before my Kolkata to Spiti trip. Replacement of Cat con is expensive hence with the help of TASS got it welded from outside. Its been 6 months now. Would know how it is holding when I visit the next time. As I am aware of the rust issue of Hexa's exhaust since the beginning of my ownership thanks to TBHP forum, I mandatorily get it checked in front of me everytime I take my car to service station. Also hearing the exhaust sound by rolling down the windows to catch any unusual sound helps to catch the exhaust issue early and get it fixed.

So yesterday took the Hexa to local garage where the mechanic inspected the rusting of exhaust pipe. He told that rusting has caused a lot of damage to pipe and will require welding with additional metal sheet over damaged area. However he also suggested to replace the damaged pipe with new one as he does not guarantee the welding quality. But I asked him to go with the welding as replacing with new one was costly and not readily available. Total damage to pocket was four thousand rupees including welding and labour.

I'm looking for recommendations for a good jump starter kit suitable for the hexa.

What specification should I be looking for? Any recommended brands?

The boodmo sourced clips work like a charm. Finally got the rattling trims fixed. Have a few clips for spare.

Other updates :

i had to change the exhaust pipe due to rusting. While it took a few days to source, TASS was able to source and fix.

Got the Suspension work done finally. All 4 shocks, full bush kit front and rear, the link rods and ball joints along with steering rack. Hopefully the major repairs are over now.

Does anyone have access to the workshop manuals for Hexa ? I want to find out the correct ride height front and rear ( to check after the suspension work. dont like a sagging front ).

I own Tata Hexa XT (MT) since October 2018 (1st Owner) - 1.15 lac kms driven until now.

Of late, the issue (not really) is that I feel the NVH level inside the cabin is felt slightly higher only while the engine is running at rpm 1200-1500 (irrespective of gear/speed). Else, it is quite smooth & silent.

Can anyone share some tips, please!

Please get the engine mounts inspected, if possible, get them changed. It's not very costly for Hexa, should come within 5k for both A and B engine mounts. Also check the gearbox mount too while doing the above. These mounts are the ones that isolate the engine vibrations getting transmitted to the cabin.

But why only at rpm 1200-1500...?
