Can you provide some additional guidance on this? Is this something we need to change at rear as well as front? Some more detailing on what needs to be done would be helpful. Will speak to Maruti Service guys and see if they are willing to do this fitment. Do you see any risks or is this risk free?

It's a relatively easy job. The rubber bush is what comes between the chassis of the car and the shock.

Part 5 in the diagram.

It can only be done for the front since the rear suspension doesn't have a similar part because it's torsion beam type.

I don't see any risks as such. If anything the height of the vehicle in the front will be raised by a few millimetres depending on how thick the technix bush is compared to the stock bush.

Changing the front strut mount is pretty simple. Need to support the car by jack and remove the strut mount screws from top and replace the strut mount. There are 3 screws. But I doubt there will be significant improvement in the ride quality with this change only.

Not as simple as that. The spring should be compressed. Need a spring compressing tool to do that.
Not expecting S class ride quality after this mod. Even a tiny improvement is really helpful for this really bumpy car. :coldsweat

However, after returning home, I lost 20 psi twice in normal city traffic in 2-3 days. Checked all 4 tyres for puncture, but they were all good. Filled them again to recommend psi. But lost air in 2 tyres fast again in 2-3 days. From 32 psi in rear tyres to 9 psi!

Given the problem you are facing I would recommend you to add a TPMS. Does not matter if you pick the Internal one or External one but a TPMS will warn you if the leakage happens while on the move and if air pressure drops below a certain threshold. These are available on Amazon India from 2.3 K onwards.

Don't buy the external TMPS available for around 2.5K at Amazon. I bought one for my Wagon R and pretty disappointed.

Very slow update in pressure, one of the sensor constantly shows pressure and temperature (about 2 psi) less than the others, battery drains out within 3 month. Also, my tire hit a curb during parking and the cover of one of the sensors got broken and as a result got unusable.

In contrast, I'm using an internal one in my Ignis bought about 5 years ago from Aliexpress for 5K, working flawlessly. No need for battery change even.

@archat68 and @vsrivatsa thanks for the TPMS idea. Will try it out. Had thought about it, but wanted to avoid the bother of installing it. For now have switched to UC6 in stock size, i.e. 175/65 R15. Grip has improved and ride is silent compared to the Ecopia. Still, the steering weight and high-speed composure is nowhere what I experienced with 195.

Someone in one of the threads here had rightly mentioned it would be better to go for good rubber in stock size instead of upsizing if the car is to be used mostly in the city, and 175 seems decent for Ignis for daily use. So have shelved any plan of fitting 195, considering the mismatch in rim and tyre width. Better to be safe then "abey yaar, yeh kya ho gaya" one fine day :)

Yes for City driving, I do not need the Steering to weigh up. That is the reason I have no plans to upsize for my Ignis.

Here is the link to the TPMS I am using >

With AliExpress gone, the choice is less. Batteries though lasted 2 years on mine.

Interior - Front

Fuel flap release is located on the floor, just ahead of the driver's seat. Notice how the floor mat is designed to ensure that it doesn’t foul with it. No boot release here. The hatch locks / unlocks with the central locking system:

My Dec 2021 Ignis Zeta AT does not seem to have the hook that holds the driver side mat. As shown in the pic in in the quote. Has this been removed from the latest Ignis models?

Also, Driver side footwell is slightly elevated (not flat) in the middle. Is this how it is supposed to be?

That comes with the mat. Usually you get 2 hooks with the OEM mats with one as a spare. One side of the hook is fixed to something on the floor. No idea what but I saw it being fitted at a showroom.

Thanks. you are right. Upon carefully looking, there is a small tear in the carpet made intentionally at the same place where black plastic piece seen in the above quoted picture. This is where I assume the hook clip would connect. I will visit showroom guys to get that checked and fixed.

Yes, I remember seeing that tear but wasn't sure if it was there earlier or the guys made it.

Also Ignis would need 2 hooks, just checked the MSIL's website. Try to get 2 more as spares if you can.

You said your model is Zeta but the image posted above shows the center console having the AC Auto climate control . As per the Ignis brochure, the Zeta doesn't have the Auto Climate Control and has the same AC buttons as the Delta and Sigma model. Am I missing something here ? Also it shows a Manual gear knob above

The pic is from the official review - first page of this thread. Not my car. I have Zeta AT 2021 and it doesn't come with Auto AC.
I wanted to quote the second pic showing mat hook but this also got quoted by mistake.

My March 2020 Ignis doesn't also have the driver side floor mat hook. But there's a velcro underneath that keeps the mat firmly in place. My Alto K10 had a hook though. Don't think it's much of a bother. Make sure the velcro sticks properly. Use MGA mats if possible. I don't like using generic mats for supposedly safety reasons.

Floor hooks come with floor mats, and have to be installed later. In some cars, there is a cutout in the carpet, for cars like XL6, S Cross etc, we have to feel the hole in member and make our own cut in the carpet for those hooks.

Most dealers don't install the hooks and discard it as they often end up damaging the carpet while making an incision. But you can always get spare hooks from them.

Shashi
