Is your wireless carplay issue resolved? My wireless carplay is NOT working from the day of purchase. Now I'm told they might get a get a fix by 1st week of April.

No the issue is not resolved they have asked me to come to the service station to get the same rectified. I had shown the same during the 5K inspection as well, but there it started working without any issues. I will now take the car for servicing for the 15 K to get this rectified.
i have been so far unsuccessfully trying to get a test drive of the compass MT petrol. the dealer in pune has repeatedly said that they cannot arrange for the test drive of manual 1.4 petrol. in fact today one of the sales person indicated that jeep India might altogether discontinue the sports variant. (i don't believe this) To me it gave an impression that jeep India or possibly the dealer network is only pushing the variants of Limited and above. if you insist on the sport variant they try to convince you to opt for the longitude variant which for a few small additions seem like not value for money given the price difference.
they kept convincing me to test the automatic petrol, so finally i decided to test it. compared to my 1.6 petrol Ford fiesta classic the automatic jeep felt grossly underpowered especially when overtaking. i had to depress the pedal aggressively to get some response from the engine. is the manual petrol any better in terms of pick up etc???
Thanks to this thread and to a great ownership thread by Sharan I have finally booked my Jeep Compass Longitude Petrol AT today. I have opted for a 2022 model and the dealer told me that he has a Feb brilliant black available. I have told him that we will do the PDI prior to registration and he has agreed. Dealer said that the VIN would indicate the month. How do we verify the month in the VIN? Any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

Check the last two characters of your VIN. It ends with a number and a character, like *1N. 1 indicates January and N indicates 2022. If the manufacturing date is Feb 2022 then it should end with *2N
You can find the VIN on the driver side floor and there will be a sticker on the driver side door as well which has the VIN.
Any news about increase in prices? Jeep Sales person called me today to inform me that there would be increase in prices by 35k from next month onwards. How true is that considering Jeep has significantly increased the prices in last 6 months.

Could be true. Saw this on social media -

This is plain atrocious. How many times would prices be increased. Should a car be even bought in these times?

Quite possible, the Jeep SA told me this at start of March, since Jeep wasnt in the top of my mind, I did not bother with that update here. While most folks increased the price in Jan, Jeep apparently did not.

I think Jeep increased the prices in November and then in January again.

I have a month old 1.4 sport manual, so I will try to answer your queries.
Firstly, it is impossible to get a test drive of this variant. My dealer had only S variants for test drive. Fortunately I got a chance to have a look at one car which was to be delivered to another customer. They let me sit inside and get a feel, they started the car and showed the lights, music system etc and that’s it.
About the sport variant getting discontinued, I am not sure it’s true. My SA had mentioned during our talks that about a third of their sales come from the sport variant.
About the engine and gearbox here are my observations. It is definitely not among the fastest of turbo petrols. There is turbo lag but it’s liveable. The 1st and 2nd gears are short so you have to quickly upshift. 3rd gear onwards it is fast enough to catch up with most cars on the road. In 4th and 5th gear most overtakes can be managed without downshifting. If you have driven a Punto or Linea 1.3 MJD, I think you will find the behaviour of 1.4 MultiAir quite similar but way faster.
The torque though is quite enjoyable. I have to reverse on to a narrow downhill road from where I park, and then take a sharp right and climb uphill to reach the main road. The compass does it so effortlessly. In the Punto I would be burning a lot of clutch for the same manoeuvre.
Overall I would say the compass 1.4 manual is quite competent, but if you expect it to behave like a hot hatch then you will be disappointed. If you are used to driving a fast petrol, I think you won’t find this fast enough. For me upgrading from a 1.3 MJD Punto, I find it quite enjoyable.
Hope this helps.

Hi All,
Took the delivery of Trailhawk 2022 yesterday and drove from showroom to Chennai due to some work. Least to say, but the drive was awesome. Detailed review would follow. Till then few pictures -

Congratulations buddy, wishing you happy miles.
That's a nice shade I thought Trailhawk came only in red and sliver color as shown in reviews, waiting for your detailed reviews and some off-roading pics as well:)

Btw, did you get the bonnet decal changed from red to black? The side strip on Jeep website shows red whereas yours is black. Was that customized?

I was wondering the same thing. When the initial Trailhawk reviews came out, that red stip on the bonnet looked quite cheap, almost like a roadside sticker job! It's a great thing if they're allowing buyers to customise it.
