I have a Jan, 22 XZA+ dark which is nearing its 45k service. It has 32k on odo. Harrier pulling left is the persistent issue that I am facing. I have gotten it serviced at Tata service center in Peeragarhi, Auto Vikas near Kirti Nagar and also delight motors near Najafgarh but everytime they just end up doing the alignment and wheel balancing only which solves the issue for few hundred kms.

Have you tried a tyre shop of repute? I had the same left pulling(on my Harrier) when I got the WA/WB done at a dodgy tyre shop but my usual tyre shop was able to rectify it. I never get alignment/balancing done at the dealership.
Facing a little glitch on my car. The ambient temperature sensor shows temperature around 47’C with actual temperature being around 27. I believe there’s some issue with the ambient temperature sensor. Has anyone else faced this problem? Where can I find that sensor in the car?

It's a known issue with many Tata models. Even many test drive cars of Tata showrooms have one tyre worn out till the steel threads are showing, despite repeated attempts to solve it by their mechanics.

Rather than pricing please check for the following
1. Left drifting . It was common with that batch
2. Rusting : check for rusting under hoods and bonnet areas and under the beadings.
3. Electrical issues
These are the common issues that were reported |
Thanks for the response. In 2023 facelifted version also, do we have this issue?

It is a known issue in the initial batches of the harrier but I like to believe that it went away in the later models.
I found a tiny light at 0 degree position in the steering wheel. It's green in colour if looking straight but appears orange when seen off centre.
Anyone knows what it's for?

The photo is not clear. However, from the position of the green light, it appears to be the indication of headlight being off.y

Light is directly on the steering wheel, not in the instrument cluster. It is definitely an LED and not a reflection for example.
Excellent Car, Horrifying Tata Customer Service
On April 2nd, I gave my Harrier XZA in for the regular 3-year / 45,000 km service at Auto Matrix, Udupi. The car has run 39,000 km with almost no issues so far. There had been no warning signs or alerts, so I assumed it would be a routine service.
The service center called and informed me that the coolant was running low due to faulty coolant plugs. They also said this would not be covered under warranty and quoted ₹15,000–₹20,000 for the repair. Additionally, they identified a leak in the turbocharger, which they agreed to replace under warranty. And that’s where the real problem began.
The service team discovered that, back in 2022, there was a duplicate entry for the first free service — from a service center in Jorhat, Assam (Pragati Motors). My car has never even been outside the southern states! Because of this incorrect record, the Udupi service center said they couldn’t process the warranty claim until the entry was corrected or removed.
I contacted the Jorhat service center, and they said they couldn’t remove or update the entry since it’s over three years old. But, they were kind enough to give it in writing that it was their mistake and that entry is incorrect. I then reached out to Tata customer care with their written declaration, and ever since, I’ve been stuck in an endless loop — calling them every day, explaining the issue for 15 minutes each time, and being told someone will “look into it.” It’s been over a week now. No action taken.
Meanwhile, my car is still sitting idle at the service center, waiting for this to be resolved.
Is there any way to escalate this issue to someone who can actually do something?
I’m sharing this here so others can learn from my experience. The Harrier is a fantastic product, but Tata is absolutely killing its own brand with this kind of post-sales service. I knew what I was getting into when I bought it, but it’s still frustrating. I’m the kind of person who usually defends Tata products against online bashing — but after experiencing this myself, I can see where those people are coming from.
Lesson: Check your service history details on the TMSC app! Make sure there are no fake or incorrect job card entries against your vehicle. Tata doesn’t verify this data, and there seems to be no mechanism to correct it either. They will not approve warranty claims if your service center makes a mistake.
Hoping for some resolution, but considering the rate at which this is moving, it think this will take another month or so. Awful. :(

Hi Elroy,
Sent you a personal message. Pls check.
Best,
I'm curious, is the coolant plug or dummy cap as they call it, not covered under warranty? If that's the case, then this will be like a 20k expense including labor every 30-40k kms only for just this??
Right now, I'm just going by what the service center is saying. But, such an important part not being covered in extended warranty is disappointing. The car is not even three years old.

Usually it does not leak , did they say how the leak happened? Was the plug rusted?

These pictures were sent to me. Plugs look okay to my untrained eyes. Could this be a manufacturing defect?

Can be or something has caused it to rust severely, however once there is rust involved, they will wash their hands off. It looks more than just surface rust to my eyes.
