Hi All,

I am facing exact same issue as mentioned above. I also did wheel alignment and wheel swapping however issue has worsened with car pulling left. I have taken delivery this Monday and hence car has not even completed 200kms on odo.

Same issue with brakes with a thud sound coming. Is this some manufacturing defect or both are linked.
@amandeepkamboj - Is your issue resolved? And if yes how?

Also based on past threads seems these issues have not been resolved. Hence can someone please post tata email addresses for serious escalation? I am planning to escalate this.

Quite odd to see...mine is nearing 2K on the odo but never faced anything like this. Brakes are a bit spongy but braking is quite adequate not to mention never heard a sound.

Since both of you describe exact issue wherein the misalignment & braking noise occur in tandem in a new car, I guess, it might be a manufacturing issue & wherein both these problems are somehow interrelated. Have you got your checked at the Service Center?

I have never heard of international brands having to fix weld issues and you hardly see parts changing so much.

Every company has its share of quality & performance issues which never come out in public domain. The ones which have sufficient cause of concerns see 'Silent recalls' and the serious ones see full blown publicized 'recall campaigns'. Silent recalls have been discussed numerous times here of Team-BHP itself; which are essentially OEMs trying to clean-up the mess without raising stink.

I have friends working in auto industry (including the international brands and not just in India) and, as per them, first 6~12 months are reality check for development teams - once the feedbacks start pouring in from real-world usage. New issues are catalogued for future reference and repeat issues are scrutinized to see how they were missed.

It takes guts and commitment to accept the mistakes publicly and working to resolve them. Tata is doing it, not because they are too different, because they have to re-gain customers' confidence.

Correct !!

Even though I had done PDI before taking delivery, noticed this issue today itself while travelling in the back seat-

This is the picture of the rear side floor of the driver's seat. As you can see, the left side bolt's cover is missing.

I have informed my SA regarding the issue. He said that the issue will be sorted out sometime this week, when I go to the showroom to get the registration plate fixed.

Another issue ( a more serious one)-

As you can see, the engine malfunction light popped - up today. Initially when I saw it, I thought it would go away after sometime of driving. But throughout the 67 kms of commute I did today, the light didn't go off. I didn't face any issues at all ( but was concerned, nonetheless).
I have informed my SA about the same. This issue also he said will be sorted once I visit the showroom.

I know that this is an issue I should get sorted at the earliest, but I do not plan to drive the car at all before my visit to the showroom to get the HSRP fixed. So it's better to get the issues sorted altogether at once. If needed, I'll send the car to the workshop as well on the same day, which is near the showroom. No point going to the same place twice, thrice, or maybe more.

To be honest, I'm not surprised one bit with these above mentioned issues. Although I would've desired for them not to have cropped-up, but I knew what I was looking at while buying a Tata car.

In my Harrier, 2-3 small, black door rubber pads/"knobs" (I don't know what they're actually called) came out the very next day! I mean a 20₹ glue would have fixed it but....TATA :Frustrati Anyways, thinking of glueing it myself.

Also a palm size patch on the rear left door panel just below the window feels coarse to touch when swiping bare hands over it. SA has told to rectify it at the first service but I'll get corrected at the detailing workshop when I'll take it to get Ceramic Coating done.

If I can barely remember, a couple of owners in this thread had reported a similar(?) issue in the beginning of their purchase, which was later found to be due to pressing both the accelerator pedal & brake pedal together in the AT model(?). In any case, keep us posted on the progress on this.

I too was a bit apprehensive when buying my Harrier (XZ - MT BS6) & was ready for niggles lol: but haven't faced any (apart from the one mentioned above). Touchwood.

Sorry to hear that. Although it shouldn't have happened, it is still a trivial issue which can be easily fixed, as you have rightly pointed out.

This is something new, I have no idea about it. Taking it to the service center to get it fixed might not actually be a good idea. Taking it to the detailer is a better decision.

Considering that to be the issue, shouldn't this engine malfunction light (I hope that's the correct name; forum members correct me if I'm wrong) go off when the car is switched off? However, that is not the case with my car (and yes, it is an AT).

Sure, will definitely keep posting updates.

Mine's the MT version so not mich idea but as I pointed out earlier, a member faced a very similar issue which he shared on this thread (Page 23). Quoting the post below for your reference.:

Attachment 2075351

I was apprehensive and hence stopped the car. On restarting it after some time (1-2 min), the warning indication is still glowing. The service centre was not far away (5-6 km) from this location and hence straight went for a checkup. The service guys connected it with their laptop through the "On-Board Diagnostic" tool. On scanning for various messages, the error code was found to be due to the brake and accelerator pedal's simultaneous pressing (can be for small instance) . This may have happened unintentionally due to quick shifting between accelerator and brake pedal and vice versa in the city traffic. Further, the service advisor informed that such a minor warning signal can go off in case the vehicle is switched off for 10 min (this may be tried before driving to the service centre). So he cleared the error and finally it ended happily, All is well that ends wellclap:.

As per the manual it is "Malfunction Indication Lamp" (MIL) :). However, in case the MIL remains ON after fully switching off the car for 20-30 min, then you should visit the service center at the earliest.

Thanks for your help guys, but unfortunately the light is still glowing.

After reading both the above posts, I went to my car right away. I turned it on, and the MIL light was still glowing.

The last time the car was driven was yesterday afternoon. That gives it plenty of time between two consecutive starts. So the issue of brake and accelerator pedal being pressed simultaneously should have been taken care of by the ECU in the last 20 hours. However, that's not the case .

I didn't drive the car now, so can't say anything regarding noticeable issues. As of yesterday, absolutely no issues faced.

Seems like there is nothing else I could so except taking it to the service center on the day the HSRP is fixed.

Anymore inputs would be really helpful.

My bad. Didn't read the whole post I quoted earlier. If the light is still glowing even after turning off the car overnight then it might be a less benign issue, though I hope not. Visit to the Service Station is the only option now imo. Do keep us in the loop on what transpires though. Will help building a repository on the thread to which other owners can refer.

I am facing exact same issue as mentioned above.

Things have improved after steering calibration but not perfect. My car is very sensitive to road banking and undulations.

Thanks for the advise & support of you BHPians.
I would definitely keep updating the progress.

Anyone heard of this? Mine is Dec 2020 mfg and first service is due, so just checking.

Edit: Just went through latest comments on this post. Apparently 3-4 people have received call and TASS replaced the coolant assembly/system. I have reached out to my dealer and awaiting response.

This is confirmed. Certain batches of Nov and Dec 2020 models have coolant hose issue. Instead of recall, this is being replaced as part of first service.

So, does it mean that if it is not replaced in the first service, the car does not belong to those specific batches? Mine, bought in November, completed the first service, but this issue was not brought up.

I would assume so. Reason - When I inquired about this particular issue, the SA mentioned that it is only specific to certain batch of Nov/Dec 2020 cars and is being taken care even if the customer does not ask for it. He also said that in my case it is already added to the job card.

Hope this helps.
