Thank you Jaggu and Yadavsid
I have got the roof beading changed and added sealant , but the problem for my headache was not caused due to air entering the cabin , after a lot of work I realised it’s because of the air getting stuck inside the cabin and causing a Vacuum Seal effect
It could be because of the tiny air extractor vent on the inner panel of the tailgate .
The 2022 -2023 has a different design with more vents to help the cabin pressure / air release
But unfortunately I’m still confused if changing the panel to the latest design will help . And my local mahindra service center have never replaced the older panel with the newer design for any Thars
If any 2020 -2021 thar owners have faced this vacuum seal effect please do let me know ,
Right now I’m having to open the window now and then to release the cabin pressure .
Hi all,
I see Azad and Bimbra as two renowned outlets for Thar modifications. However, the price difference is very stark between the two with Bimbra being costlier one.
So out of the two which one is recommended for grill, rear arm rests, front arm rest etc.

If you live in Jaipur, I suggest you drive down to Karol Bagh in Delhi, and splurge on your Thar with the budget you want.

After trying a few alternative options, I decided to go ahead with the Toughdog lift-kit. This setup consists of 2x NitroGas shocks at the front, 2 FoamCell shocks at the rear & 4 coil springs. The ToughDog kit offers a relatively softer rider, a slightly higher lift (40mm lift front & rear) & better articulation. The ToughDog lift kit paired with the Rengade R/T+ tyres makes the Thar a formidable off-road machine! I had an absolute blast with this setup |
Hope you are having a good time post these upgrades.
Awaiting your feedback on Toughdog suspension during city drives and low speed broken roads.:thumbs up
Quick question. Any good storage idea to prevent the tyre changing equipment from bouncing around in the back of the Thar.

Use the velcro straps on the bag to tie it to the base of the roll cage behind the rear seat.
Hi all, first things first, I have booked my Thar D AT Convertible Top in Red colour last week after 1 year of contemplation since it was a second car :D. Will be getting the delivery this weekend. After the delivery I will be travelling from Ahmedabad to Jaipur. Just wanted to check whether there is any break in period which needs to be followed.
Thanks

Also wrap each tool with newspaper so that they dont make noise.
Hi all, any leads to change the grill to 7 slot in Vadodara. Any reputed outlet there with good quality grill.
Thanks in advance.
May be a silly question but looking for suggestion from folks here.
I'm planning to go for a 2000 KM drive to Rajasthan in Dec. Mileage so far is 7500Km/11 Months (Thar Petrol) and service is due in Dec-end itself. Given the relatively low mileage so far wondering if I should service the car at 7500 Km before trip or get it done after coming back from trip.

It is fine if you get it done after the trip if you dont have any teething niggles that you want to be addressed. Since the mileage will be just close to the 10k mark post your trip, it should be ok to do it after coming back. But if you want the peace of mind of having an oil change before the trip, you can opt for the service prior to the trip.
It also depends on the service center in your place. If they are good enough to not introduce new issues post service, then you can get it done prior. But if they are not competent enough, you can let it be till after you are back. Totally subjective i know but up to you to decide keeping some of these factors in mind. All the best on your road trip and have fun!! :thumbs up
Hi all,
Delighted to announce that I have taken delivery of my New Thar Diesel Auto with Convertible Top in Red Rage color.
I have a road trip planned to Rajasthan and Uttrakhand in the coming days with a halt at Delhi possible. My query: Is it better to get some of the accessories from Delhi/Gurgaon both in terms of quality and price? Also, if going to Karol Bagh can anyone provide any recommendations for the shops to go to and the accessories recommended to get there?
I got a few accessories from the dealer. However, he didn’t have 7D mats in stock. I believe they cost somewhere around 9.5k. There is one foot mat available on Amazon from Auto Clow. Has anyone here got below foot mats for Thar from Amazon? How is the quality? Review on Amazon seems decent. These are available for 3.5k.

Congratulations! Looks smashing. :thumbs up
Can you let me know which month manufacturing is it? I think Mahindra has greatly downsized the Thar 3 door manufacturing, and the convertible manufacturing has nearly stopped. You are lucky to get your dream car.

Hey, thank you.
The manufacturing is of April 2024. They had ordered this vehicle for a customer and there was some issue with his loan. They had the vehicle for almost six months. I was in touch with them since September 2024 and finally they gave me a very good deal on this vehicle. I gave into my temptation and booked it :D. I could have taken a risk of waiting till January 2025 and could have extracted more discount. But I didn't take that risk as I also knew the production of 3Door Thar is down considerably and more so for Convertible Top. Many dealers are not even taking booking of CT now. And in case they are taking, they are taking huge amount up front and quoting a waiting of 5-6 months.
