Found this cutout under the driver’s seat. Does anyone know what this is for?

Like several other cars as well, it’s for the VIN

Thanks for the response. I did open it but didn’t see any VIN number inside it.
I’m guessing it’s gonna be some sort of an engravement? All I could see was 2 screws bolted from the other side. (The bold side facing us). Will try to attach a pic.
Skoda Octavia sales numbers for June 2022 stand at a meagre 57 units as per a website.
Looks really low.

She’s a looker in the Graphite Grey color and that stance :loveit |
On my daily route to my office, I see a Graphite Grey L&K everyday coming from the other side.
Oh heavens! It looks so beautiful and classy, makes me drool!

While parking in really tight spots in a controlled environment (say, relying on proximity sensors or an external help), it is better to turn off manoeuvre braking from the infotainment system since the feature prevents one from creeping smoothly very close to an obstacle. |
Thanks for the input. I also felt auto-hold being on adds to making it a bit more difficult as you have to push the pedal more than the car gliding itself.

Hi there, congratulations on reaching this milestone with Octavia.
I wanted to ask you, from where can I procure this boot mat? I asked my dealer in Chandigarh, and they said Skoda does not offer any official boot at for the Octavia; I couldn’t find any online either.
Thanks!

I approached Tafe Access service with the SKU# and they placed an order for it, which is imported
That said the product is on backorder as per them and I still don't have any ETD, just my payment confirmation :D
Hi Folks, after completing 7 months and 4k kms of ownership, I realised that the passenger side airbag was turned off by default on my Octavia. After googling for few links I came across this
link where a snippet from an owner's manual around passenger side airbag is shared. It mentions that if the passenger airbag is turned off then it must be notified to the buyer.
However to my disbelief, there was no such notification from dealership and I was in a sense of shock after realising that the very basic safety feature was turned off. I bought this vehicle prioritising the safety aspects but I feel bad knowing that my dear ones were travelling unguarded for the last 7 months. :unhappy
The intent behind sharing this post is to enlighten fellow owners to validate if that isnt the case with their vehicles and that they turn on the airbag immediately if it is still in deactivated state.
Note: The notification in the current Octavia would come on the front interior light panel and orange `Off State` notification will persist as long as the vehicle is running if the airbag is indeed deactivated. Refer snippet below:

Same was the case with my OCtavia as well. I remember seeing the orange icon lit up on the info panel near IRVM. I changed it to On position while I did the PDI in person. I am sure dealer would have missed it.

Shocked to hear this, and glad nothing happened which would have necessitated it's use. :sadface.
A bit confused though. Was the orange warning displayed for you as well for these last 7 months?

When I got my Kodiaq, I noticed the passenger airbag off light to be on. At first I thought that the car senses and turns it off and on based on the occupancy of the passenger seat. But after 24 hours when my wife and I went for a drive, I noticed that it still indicated the passenger airbag was off. Immediately checked and indeed it was physically off. Turned it on again! If someone misses these things when they take delivery of a new car, and you tend to ignore such things as its a new car and you're still honey mooning with it, it could prove so risky! Clearly a miss from the PDI team, while taking the car out of transport mode, they should have activated this. Would ask you to highlight this on Skoda owners FB page where Skoda teams also participate, as it could lead to severe consequences and the driver / passenger can be clearly blamed for this negligence.
hey everyone,
was quite curious about one thing and I can’t help but than ask if, the previous gen Mk3.5 Octavia 1.8 TSI (2017-2021) was faster than the new Mk4 Octavia (2021-) in the 0-100, 160, 200 kmph mark?
Thank you ;)

Glad that you have realised just in time.

Since this light was placed on Interior lights panel and didnt show up as any warning or any info as usually it is seen on 10000 places on MID and infotainment, it never caught my attention until yesterday when I realised that `Off` symbol is lit up and was curious to know what's happening here.

Why look elsewhere when we should use Team-bhp platform to create awareness among all existing and prospective owners to take necessary actions.
My curiosity made me google a couple of video reviews of the Octavia on youtube and I was amazed to that
NONE of the cars allotted to the the group of flagship Media Reviewers including our fellows at
team-bhp had this disabled.
However, I looked at some of the videos of upcoming folks and I could find 3 examples where it was disabled.
This an example of a showroom vehicle

While these are from dealer/owner sourced vehicle

youtu. be/LmCmoF7mM_o?t=640
Note: I have intentionally added space in link as intent is to show these video but show that a lot of cars are being sold with a very primitive safety feature disabled.

For Octavia MK3, I have most of the details as part of my research when I bought it. New Octavia only 0 to 100.
I think new Octavia might be slightly faster than 1.8 (dont expect much difference). But considering new gen top speed is 240kmph compared to 220kmph in 1.8 TSI, it might be more faster in the top end.
