Hi guys - just took delivery of our ax7l diesel auto a few hours ago. The auto start stop is a painful feayte. Can someone help me figure out how to disable it? Mahindra video shows some EsS button that I cannot seem to find. Sorry for the silly question

You can find this switch on the right side of the steering wheel. Congratulations on your purchase, by the way.

Thank you! But this is painful. In my old XUV500, i was able to disable it once and have never turned it back on. On my way from the showroom, i restarted the car and was trying to make a turn and it switched off, on an incline I had to stop to allow a two wheeler cutting though and it switched off... I don't know why this would be useful in most city conditions. I think Mahindra should link it to the drive mode and maybe enable this only for the zap mode or something like that. Turning it off each time we start seems like a major irritant!!

Congratulations on your new steed AX7 L automatic.

I have also felt that auto start stop is very aggressive. Auto start stop, stopped the test drive car in 3-4 seconds after I came to a stop twice during my test drive.

When auto start stop has stopped the engine, then you have to remember not to disable it as the car will not start. You have to move gear from "D" to "P" or "N", press brake and then push start button.

Small trick, next time just turn the steering a little bit in clock and anti-clock direction one or two times and the car will start. This works on my AX7L AWD AT. This helps mainly when car is stopped on a slope.

It seems people of PPS Mahindra, HRBR not able to get my correct variant booked in the backend. Initially, they booked AX7 instead of AX7L and color also wrong.

Today, SA sends me some screenshot of correction where they have corrected color but forgot to change the variant. I have told him to get it corrected by evening. If anyone has more helpful SA in Bangalore, please DM me.

Fed up of these guys. They have not been able to get the right booking in 2 weeks, when would it be delivered is my guess. :Frustrati

Oops. Hope this got sorted. What date did they give you for delivery finally?

Regards
Balpreet

We booked an AX7L Diesel AT in Midnight Black colour on 29th August. We had enquired with multiple dealerships, but none had any in the colour we wanted in ready stock. But to our surprise, the Sales Executive called us the next day to inform us that a car has been allotted. Expect the car to reach the dealership in a week.

Thats a pleasant surprise. Wish I had this experience. I wanted the vehicle before Ganapti Visrajan ( I booked early sept) Have been waiting and now in coming week would get the delivery ( Vehicle allotted and reached dealer's stockyard)

Folks, finally made up my mind and booked AX7L D AT AWD - White over the weekend. I drove the D AT car couple of times between different dealers and found NVH a bit different mainly due to maintenance of the car maybe. 2nd test drive was better and vibrations were bit lesser than 1st time around.

Booked with ANant motors at Marathahalli, they have committed for a delivery within 4 wks primarly due to AWD and lack of stock. He was offering a FWD AT immediately but I am ok to wait few weeks for AWD. Now need to decide on tire swap options. Pricing wise no discount beyond the 2 lac, insurance I can get independently or they will price match, 10% disc on accessories

Also I wanted to install the side step and rear bumper guard, any reco if I should stick with Mahindra accessory or get it after market? Mahindra side step at 25K seems steep.

Side step at 25k :Shockked: I have asked the Sales guy to share me the pricing. But this seems high. How much would it be aftermarket ( in Mumbai) anyone can share please?
Do share price comparison for Rear Bumper Protector too

Or you can check if this has a dedicated fuse and pull it out to permanently disable the feature.

This is just a thought and my 2022 XUV does not have this feature - so not very sure if this will work.

Thanks for the idea. Will look into it.

Has anyone in the forum with the 2024 version tried this successfully?

47,000 km update of my XUV700

DEF tank was not updating for a few months and had constantly stayed at 36% despite me filling up about 16 Litres during last service. I told this to the mechanic who thought that perhaps it would auto reset once I drive it for a few kms (after the refill of DEF). Unconvinced, I had them take the car to the CoTek who diagnosed the car and tried to reset the DEF metre through his laptop. The process however failed and then he tried to use another software to diagnose the DEF tank and then informed me that - the sensor in my DEF tank had gone kaput.

Faced similar problem with my XUV when it was 2 years old. My DEF level was stuck too. Similarly the whole DEF tank was changed under warranty. Thanks to the team at Naik Motors Ratnagiri. I am happy with my car as long as my workshop solves these never ending issues for me..
I own both the XUV and Safari(has its own share of software issues too)

When you buy these new generation and vastly improved Mahindra and Tata cars you should be prepared for minor issues and software glitches every now and then.

But the joy you get everytime you take these cars out on the road makes you forget everything else. The experience and driving pleasure these cars provide can cant be matched by other cars in the segment.

Went to the Mahindra showroom yesterday to TD the Roxx as I had pre-booked one on October 3. Ended up falling for the XUV700 instead. Two issues keeping me at bay at the moment-

1. Continued electronic niggles even after 3 years.
2. No official water wading capacity figures.

The closest I could find was a screenshot from the user manual. As per which, water wading capacity is no more than ~200mm. Can existing owners confirm their experiences?Mahindra XUV700 Review-img_9471.jpeg

I have owned XUV 500 and XUV700 since their initial launch, I personally have had practically no niggles. But I read in these columns that Mahindra is very proactive and fast in sorting things out. Their engines and engineering of the vehicle is good.

If you really don't have to go off road XUV700 should be the choice. Other than that it is a matter of personal choice and feel good factor.

Spoke to the SA today. He said it was because of a clamp near turbo assembly which was loose. The clamp's vibration was somehow leading to that crackling noise inside the cabin.

Hope this helps!

Thank you. I will visit the SC and get this checked. Much appreciated.

Balpreet, cannot comment for Mumbai but in Bangalore side step in after market is 12-15K depending on design vs. 25K for the Mahindra accessory. SImilarly Mahindra rear bumper guard is 6-7.5K range depending on metal or ABS, same thing in after market is 5-6K range.
