Yup, got it installed at the dealer during delivery. Proved very useful in the summer to provide shade to things in the back seat. It also doesn't obstruct the rear view completely and I use my rear view mirror like normal. It is easily removable and since it doesn't cost much, maybe try it for a while?

https://ngf132.com/, per order they provide 2 stickers. I have these on my car and also on my bike.
I don't have the QR stickers. Can I know who searched or reported my vehicle?

Thanks.

Great to see this! I am SUV biased, but sedans will always be beautiful, and virtus is a car that deserves accolades. Good to see the community is growing and getting bigger as well.

I just request you to remove the picture with the guy sticking his head out of the sunroof. We all know how unsafe that is, and I am not judging the person who is doing it, it's their life, their wish, but just like the over speeding videos, don't think this is fitting for the forum. No offence.

I am a fellow owner of virtus GT plus living in Gurgaon. How do I join this group? Any leads will be appreciated a lot

Re: Volkswagen Virtus Review

Apart from manufacturing over engineered cars VAG should have an SLA for spares and repairs. Any spare parts should be available within three days and cars coming in for repairs should be delivered within a week (except for very high accidental damages). In my case out of 12 months of ownership the car remained in service centre for two months.

Incredible pictures and so good to see this beautiful convoy! Love the matte grey with black wheels the most.

Off topic, it is not advisable to take photos outside a sunroof on a moving car. No matter the occasion. As we know, it only takes a moment and then the damage to life and limb can be irreversible.

As TeamBHP members, we can advise people not to do things like this. Whether they choose to accept it or not is up to them.

Re: Volkswagen Virtus Review

Stunning pictures of a beautiful piece of machinery.

The clean lines and excellent proportions of the Virtus always make me glance twice when I see one on the road.

Would have loved to see one in Curcuma Yellow. Takes me back to the Mitsubishi Lancer days.

Great meetup, though pictures of people sticking out of Sunroofs promotes bad behaviour, as does driving with unnecessary hazard lights, request OP to remove such pictures.

Hello!

The process is quite fascinating. The person who wants to contact you needs to scan the code and enter the last four digits of your car. Once they do that, they will receive a call. When they answer the call, your phone will ring, and when you pick up, they will be able to reach you.

This way, they will not know your number and you will not know their number. May be the app developer will have details of the caller, but they may not share it with you.

Hope this helps.

If they had installed this switch in the dummy switch location near the gear lever, it would look much better and be more integrated into the design

This could be done by DIY. There are plenty of places to acquire a switch that is matched for around the gear lever console. An extension of the wiring up to there and then connection to the switch won't be difficult.
Albeit, this is to be done before the dealer makes a hole in the front dash!

Re: Volkswagen Virtus Review

My quick update - did the 1st year servicing last week of my GT plus Manual, 11500Km done. No issues with the car, runs beautifully. Did two Pune-Kerala runs last year, had a rat bite that screwed up the electricals ( nice of VW Service to repair it free of cost ), had a front glass replacement ( this was a bit of an unpleasant surprise - had closed the wiper blade (it was kept up by the guy who cleans the car) a bit casually, not realizing that the wiper had come off its frame at one end, and the metal bit landed hard against the front glass, cracking it. spent around 18K ( happened a few months back ) repairing it. Didn't claim insurance. Other than these two incidents, no issues at all with the car.

They said they did an ECU software update ( not 100% sure what, but apparently part of the regular 1 year service list ). Not sure if its related, but the low rpm pick up seems to have smoothened out a bit after the services ( i.e. slightly easier to drive in the city ). Its a manual btw.

Ah yes, forgot - the "T" of the GT in the front grill had disappeared a few months back, and I wasn't very sure about how it happened ( did someone take it off? ) . I found another Virtus GT with the exact same issue at the service center, and caught up with him. His theory is that it might have come off during washing/wiping the car with aggressive use of the cloth at the area to wipe. I have left it like that for now, as the service center didn't have the letter with them at the time (they indicated that it costs around 1000 Rs ). I can run with the G for now I guess. Found some options with Amazon, not sure if they are an exact match.

Postscript - I understand that a few more owners of Virtus/Taigun/Slavia/Kushaq had suffered rat bites. At least 2-3 more cases in TBHP. Wonder if there is something specific to these cars under the hood that attracts the rats?

Thanks for the explanation but at the risk of going OT on a Virtus thread, what I asked was something else.

One also has the option to send a message to the car owner even if he is not having the NGF tags or QR stickers. This can be done through the phone web browser or the app with the help of registration number. Now if someone reports my vehicle incorrectly, do I have the option to know who exactly sent this message?

Also, I really do not like or don't even know how NGF got access to entire Vahan database.

Re: Volkswagen Virtus Review

I have zeroed in Virtus GT Plus DSG Edge version. I am considering the Matte Grey version. Wanted guidance from fellow Virtus owners and enthusiasts on the following questions:

1. After negotiations from 3 dealers, I have been offered 1.30 lakh discount including zero dep insurance. If we exclude insurance the inflated insurance prices given by the dealers, the effective discount turns out to be ~75k. Is there any reasonable scope for more negotiation?

2. Matte Gray vs Lava Blue -> Matte is a standout color. However, it is tougher to maintain as per online articles. Does anyone here have a matte car and share their pros and cons?

3. Does it make sense to attempt a tyre upgrade from 205 55 R16 to 225 50 R16?

4. Accessories - looking to get 3D rubber mats, puddle lamps and trumpet horn. Are they worth it?

5. Anything else that I should know / watch out for?

Thanks.

Re: Volkswagen Virtus Review

Hey guys,

Does anyone know if a facelift is coming soon? I am about to book one but if a facelift is around the corner then I’d rather wait or look elsewhere.

Thank you.

The Virtus was the last one from the 2.0 project and hence the facelift most likely will come only after the facelifts of Kushaq, Slavia and Taigun. We are yet to spot a Kushaq/Taigun facelift test mule. I think we are looking at another 2 years for a Virtus facelift.
