Got the 60k Kms service done on our Hycross today, this time at Harsha Toyota, where we purchased the car from, with the intention of getting the below issue rectified.
Total bill I got is 11.5k and SC guys had suggested to replace the tyres soon.
Any reason why I'm getting the notification of theft alert which results in sound coming from the car whenever we park near home and reason for theft is glass break?
However, they (Harsha Toyota) too couldn't rectify the issue when we gave the car for service today.
Due to this, my folks had to keep the car unlock rather than locking it.
Please tell me how to get this issue rectified?

That's very good. Now the best thing for you to do now is to raise a complaint with Toyota Customer care on voc@toyota-kirloskar.co.in. I also did that and received a call back from them. |
We have paid the booking amount in Jan 25 for ZX-O variant. The same song and dance routine with the dealer has continued for almost 5 months now. They always have "cancelled allotments" available which have 2.5L worth of accessories fitted to the car!
I'm sending an email to Toyota since the dealer pretends to play dumb about this app/allocation system.

Sad for you to be 'blessed' by a unscrupulous dealer. Best would be to blow hot and then blow cold, and get your delivery done tactfully.
Best of luck. Cheers...

Are these speakers a simple plug and play installation?
Do we need to provide damping for the doors? |
The Pioneer set prescribed by @dkaile seems to be an extremely value for money upgrade for most people where these speakers will be far better than what comes with the car. (I did swap the speakers in my Jimny with a low cost Pioneer and it is a great improvement.
But, for my new HYCROSS, I just did not want to do any spacers, harnesses and just have gone for MOREL plug and play Coaxials for all 4 doors. The speakers are in its way from Delhi to Chennai and I will do a DIY. Since HYCROSS is a very silent car, even the factory speakers are pulling out nuances well lol: so, the Morels will be great for sure. Also the 3” full range under the grills on the dash supports well I guess. So, I did not go for components
Damping - I will just hold on for now, install the speakers, listen for some time and take a call.

I was quoted about 20~21k for 6 of these plug and play for Toyota
Morel speakers here. 1 pair components for the front and a pair of coaxials for the rear. I do not know what you have been quoted for the 4 coaxials. These Morel components are 80W RMS compared to 90W of the Pioneers. And these are nearly
3 times the cost of the Pioneers, and I have feedback from my supplier that the Pioneer's sound better, maybe he is wrong, but he is a long time professional I trust. The fitting part with spacers and plug and play harness is pretty simple and nothing to be afraid of. You will be opening up the door pads anyways in both the cases, which again is a 5 minutes job.
A screenshot of some other Made for Toyota car speaker brand that I got, and this is with full GST bill and warranty -
Just for information. No commercial interest here.
Cheers...

Finally, the problem has been solved.
Here's how I resolved this issue:
Couple of months ago, when dad did a highway trip to Khammam, he had let the other guy, who happened to be his friend's chauffeur as our usual chauffeur was on leave that day and that guy had by mistakenly enabled the
"Internal Motion Sensor" button, which is located below the SOS button and that resulted in alarm sound while locking the car.
Then, after researching about this issue, I made a video call with dad a while ago and told him to disable that sensor, to which he did eventually and was thankful for resolving this issue.
Irony is, technicians from both Toyota ASCs (Harsha Toyota and Mody Toyota) didn't have clue about where the sound is coming from while locking the car and couldn't rectify this simple issue:Frustrati.
To rectify this trivial issue, they insisted my folks to keep the car with them for couple of days.
And, special thanks to YouTube, which helped me in resolving this issue.
Anyway, coming to the car, the car has run 62,600 Kms and had to get the service done bit late when the odo was at 62,500 Kms as dad was busy with his work.
During the service, they had checked the brake pads, which are fine and remember, the car has been running on the stock brake pads since the day of its purchase and never replaced it till date.

Dear All,
Recently got a Engine malfunction alert on my two year old Hycross. On checking with the service centre, it was found that a cable has been chewed, this cable hangs openly underneath. Technician called it the O2 cable and it is used for emission related measurements with a sensor at the exhaust. Cost of replacement, around 20k total! and they need 3-5 days to procure it. The vehicle could be driven like that, but they suggested it has to be replaced soon.
On checking with them, they said this is a common complaint they get usually as this cable is openly hanging and is at mercy of dogs, cats who get underneath. After replacing, also no fix that it may not happen again
I would like to ask the forum members if anyone has faced similar issues with Hycross and how did the they handle it. Thanks. |
Recently my Hycross also faced a similar issue and the dealership said a dog/ rat might have chewed the wire. It is very bad that the wires are hanging freely with no protection for a 30+ lakh car. Understood while talking that they have fixed many hycross with similar issues and only think you can do to prevent such things is to have a fully covered garage in a country like india. When you see the how the wires are hanging freely, i feel like toyota is just trying to tempt the dogs and rats to have some fun in their lifelol:
Thanks for sharing the information. How much was the repair cost in your case?
A bad news:
Got to know from dad that the 12v battery of our Hycross Hybrid has gave up today in almost 2 years of usage.
Due to this, my dad had to take the other car for his commute today that he hates and our Hycross is been parked at home safely.
Is battery drain happened due to accidentally enabling the internal motion sensor, which resulted in frequent alarm sounds while locking the car or any other reason? Asking because I heard a lot about 12v battery issues on Hycross Hybrid and, in fact, this issue had been reported by a BHP'ian in a separate thread as well.
Even Hyryder too faced similar issues is what I heard.
Typical Questions - Power Back Door, 12V Air Pump Operation
Hi,
Few practical questions on ZX configuration.
- Was wondering if anyone tried changing the TPWS numbers from 33 to lets say, 34 or 35 ? [Tire pressure setting - 33, Third Option in picture attached ]
- And ZX owners, how do you manage the Power Rear Door at the Malls, where security wants to check the boot and generally bangs the door. But ZX being Powered, how to you handle the situation of closing the rear boot door at malls?
- Did anyone try using 12V air pump to pump tires in Hycross. Does the mode of the engine be in eco/normal/power when one uses 12V air pump ?
Appreciate guidance

I am an Invicto owner and can answer the last question. Just keep the engine running in any mode(eco/normal/Power) and it will work fine. I have been doing this since purchase. Do not try this in accessory mode as it may drain the battery.
Mileage update after 4 months:
Having the VX hybrid and being a slightly more passionate (or as per my family, aggressive) driver than most folks, I've never gotten to see the hybrid magic on the mileage until today.
Disclaimer: I've been driving manual cars that give me 10-15kmpl all my life and when this automatic hybrid gave me around the same I was satisfied and remarked that's great for a 2L engine. I would even exclaim and point out to everyone whenever the odo showed 17kmpl, and I thought that was the magic of the hybrid.
I'd seen folks claim higher numbers, beyond 20, but always chalked that upto fantasy or arai or maybe they were driving at below 10kmph. Infact I had faced the opposite, on some spirited highway runs and ghat sections I'd seen single digit mileage figures that make hummers proud.
That perception changed today, when I took it out on a stroll in the city, and I was lost in the radio for ~10km and was only subconsciously driving, lightly feathering the pedal in bangalore traffic. It wasn't slow by any means, did hit the occasional 50, but remained in 30-40 kmph range throughout with the occasional traffic stop. But the mileage number that I saw was astounding to the very least, so had to take the below snap!
Conclusion: Just like any car, this car can very well give sub 5kmpl mileages when driving spiritedly so don't expect any magic there but it's upper limit when driven sedately is much much higher than most cars.

I got it from AJAY CAR accessories, New Delhi. You can search for this name in You tube and he has many videos explaining these Morel plug & play for Toyota Hycross. You can then contact him for the price and shipping for the product you want. I paid 17.5K for two pairs of Coaxial speakers, including shipping to Chennai. Hope this helps.
It is also available at car shops in Chennai, but a little expensive, hence i went this route :)

Total cost was around 40K for the wiring kit and there was some other damage caused to some parts due to chew.
