Erm... Not just the extra cost. Under bright sunlight and under night city lights, the pearl effect really shows up, and it is worth the extra you pay.

Though am talking about the pearl white colours in the Etios and Innova Crysta. Not sure about the Hycross one.

Reasons why the Super white looks better in Hycross maybe.

1. Super white is a solid white colour that stays strong, while the pearl white has an off white feel and would look more dull or have an yellowish tinge. Would need proper lighting to bring out that pearl effect. So in most occassions, the super white alongwith the Hycross's more SUVish look compared to the Innova Crysta gives more marks to the Super white.

2. The Super white in the Innova Crysta was more associated with taxis, politicians, government and police cars, while the Pearl white was for the top end ZX only. The Hycross on the other hand has less of taxi image and has not replaced the Crysta in the fleet market. Add to that I guess, the pearl white isn't limited just to the top variant. (Not sure about this)

Reaching out for help from the forum. When I try making calls using the inbuilt voice assistant, I get a message that phone book is syncing. Have not been able to make calls using the voice assistant. Please see images for error message. However, when car play is connected I am able to get Siri to make calls.

Another observation, my multimedia player either connects to Apple Car Play or Bluetooth. When the wireless car play is connected, the Bluetooth button shows not connected and when I try to connect Bluetooth it disconnects car play and then connects. Not sure if the issue has something to do with this.

I happened to drive the Hycross (Petrol) that's run 21,000 kms. I have earlier driven the Hybrid so driving the Petrol felt very different. The power felt more eager and instant than the Hybrid (I have felt this across other Hybrid vs Petrol experiences too). I love the drivers seat of the Hycross as it feels as easy as driving a hatch back with such a low dashboard and great view.

But two observations really bothered me - one being that I was able to hear a lot of minor creaks and rattles inside the car as we went through poor roads. Since the earlier Hycross Hybrid that I drove was pretty new, I'm unable to draw a comparison. Plus, though the ride comfort is great, I felt the Crysta to be even better as I happened to travel for 3 hours in a Crysta last day. I would like to know if this was a one-off experience or whether these are indeed differences between the behaviour of the Hycross and Crysta.

Haven't travelled in any Hycross so far, but from what I have seen after sitting inside it, the plastics won't look like they would last the typical Toyota life. Call Toyota interior plastics as poor, bare, low rent or whatever, but they are always well screwed together and would last a long time as factory fresh. But the Hycross interior quality felt more like Maruti than Toyota IMHO, this coming from an Etios owner.

Then again. Vehicles with three row seating. Aftermarket flooring, aftermarket seat covers, non proper seat folding mechanism. More chance of something squeaking or creaking, especially if the aftermarekt work isn't done properly. Heck, had an acquintance's Innova Crysta having a creaking sound from the 3rd row and him complaining about it. Found out that he kept the 3rd row folded, but instead of the actual holder clip, he used the strap used for folding the seat to hang the seats.

Fundamental difference being that the Hycross is monocoque shell while the Crysta is a body on frame so the ride feels different. Tyre size for the petrol hycross is 16 inch while the hybrids are on 17 & 18 so the ride difference could also be because of that.

After a long wait of nearly 6 months, the day is finally here — we’ve taken delivery of our brand-new Toyota Hycross!

The wait was exhausting, but seeing the car in person made it all worth it. We’ve gone with the Attitude Black shade and it looks absolutely stunning — bold, Chic and full of presence.

Since it's a dark color, PPF (Paint Protection Film) is next on the list to keep that finish flawless. Also exploring a few practical accessories like: Side Foot Step, Rear Bumper Protector and a must-have these days - Dashcam. And a few more small additions to make it road-trip ready! Suggestions are most welcome.

The excitement level? Off the charts!

I feel the company should have provided at least a PDF version of the manual if not a hard copy. The current way to first unlock app, then open manual, then go to a section is tiresome. Also every section has many subsections so it becomes difficult to even complete one part of it. Reading on small mobile screen is something which can be done for few minutes only..

A quick help required. I booked a VX O and yesterday signed the FORM20 RTO papers and saw they have put the variant as VX. The dealer says that is how it is done and the O does not come. Can some of you let me know what does your RC states (whoever have bought VXO and ZXO) please this is little urgent as I can take it up before it goes for RTO on Friday

The dealership is correct the (O) suffix isn’t mentioned on RC and other documents.

It’s the same case with my ZX(O) as well. Even I had the same doubt when my car was billed last year and I had got it confirmed by other forum members on this thread who had the (O) suffix cars.

Would be mentioned as VX or ZX (as the case might be). The (O) suffix is not printed, the relevant features would be present on the car as per what you've purchased. Congratulations! enjoy the ride.

Senior citizens could struggle boarding the Hycross, as you've got to haul yourselves up. I do not prefer a side-step, hence use a sturdy plastic folding stool purchased online, that goes into the boot. It is non-intrusive, quite useful for senior citizens as it’s about half the height of the car floor.

Other required accessories are dashcam, side-guard, corner protectors, and ceramic coating/ PPF (per preference and is a very personal and debatable choice, I have ceramic coating).

Also, other items like tyre inflator, water sprayer, a variety of micro-fibre cloth for cleaning, wash & polish as per preference. In fact, I have a grey microfiber cloth in each door, so bottles don't rattle (there is no soft padding on door pockets in Hycross).

Pls share the link of this plastic stool.

The one in saw in a couple of shops were not sturdy and the good ones were small in size for the senior citizens to use it confidently.
