Re: Honda Elevate Review

Has anyone availed the recent CNG conversion schemes which Honda has launched for Amaze and Elevate. One my friends is planning to make the move and could see mixed reviews on the workmanship and long-term reliability.

Congratulations on the purchase, great choice!

[*]The boot space and the ground clearance are the major plus points of this car, specially for me who is coming from a 175 litre boot space car and travels often on pot holed/uneven roads like Delhi Jaipur highway. Recently, went for a two hour journey with 9-year old two children sitting in the boot space comfortably.
Will strongly recommend against this! All the seat belts and crash ratings will not help if you pull these stunts, especially with children. Sorry for being harsh, this is important.

Overall, it is good product with 7.5/10 rating. All the 2.5 marks deducted for that irritating road noise. I suggest prospective buyers to do proper test drive if this aspect is important for you.
Known issue with Elevate, will need additional damping. Not sure why Honda skimped on it, but even the engine sounds harsh if accelerating slightly hard for overtakes, on the highway, etc.

This is a new car. Please take it to a professional workshop and get it sorted out for best results.

The CNG guys will bore holes in the car's engine to fit the CNG components. A factory fitted CNG would have been the best choice rather than a after market one. He could check with his Honda dealer and see if they can retrofit without voiding the warranty.

Hi Saket, 30kmpl on a manual (non-hybrid) City with higher specced tires is remarkable. While you have mentioned you don't hyper mile consciously, how did you manage such a high FE? Please do share.

Also loved your thread on bringing home the 5G MT!

I did check with the dealer and he is of the opinion that he cant give it in writing. On insisting he says he doesn't want the business of installing an accessory not recommended by HONDA, he would rather forego it. Would you still recommend doing it with the dealer?

Thanks for the great and detailed review.
One suggestion to you - you can have road noise dampeners fixed inside your door pads, that will significantly decrease the road noise filtering inside the cabin. This is often done for vehicles that have a lot of engine clutter / unwanted road noise. Also, post fixing the sound dampeners, the door pads can be sealed back in a nice way so that it doesn't show any signs of an additional attachment inside them.

Personally, I wouldn't go ahead with it if it risks voiding the warranty. This was definitely not my case.

Interesting! Lovely car . Honda is one of the very few auto makers that are making cars which look elegant and less of a hybrid/futuristic EV design in today's time. Your purchase seems VFM for your annual running. Spot on choice with the V variant!

Cruise control on a Honda in 2025 should be standard. It's usually more efficient than even light-foot drivers when driving uphill! Doesn't even cost a lot for Honda to install one. As if stooping low on NVH and Bonnet body paint wasn't enough, they now removed Cruise.

Also, impressively, Honda has managed to grab all five stars for the Elevate (W-RV in Japan) in the recent JNCAP safety rating! I wish they'd submit for a BNCAP rating here.

I think to get the max FE from any car is to get it while cruising at a constant speed, that too mostly around 70-75KMPH. When you connect well with the car, you know the absolute minimum amount of feather pressure on the A pedal required to maintain that constant speed. Also, if there is an opportunity to coast IN GEAR, I take it, for eg. a downhill gradient on an open highway. I just get off the A pedal at this time so that the car's fuel consumption is actually zero in such a stretch. Never coast in neutral.

Rest of the points I covered in this post: https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-...ml#post5941495 (Our 2024 5th-Gen Honda City MT comes home!)

I thought Honda Sensing was available in all variants except the base variant of the new Honda cars. And with Honda Sensing, Cruise control comes automatically. It is indeed a revelation that Elevate VX doesn't get it.

Thanks!

Thanks. Yes, I would like to do something about that issue. Have heard about after market remedies for this issue, but was not sure about their effectiveness. So, if it is comparable to C class, I would certainly go for it. Please share the details.

He had audio insulation installed on the doors and boot lid. Apart from that he is using thick floor mats.

I haven't ridden a stock Elevate but I was quite impressed by the insulation on his car.
