Re: Honda Elevate Review

Thanks everyone for the responses. I got my Honda connect app activated on Saturday.

I guess it is not possible to buy standalone bucket mats from the dealers. Any third party or after market options available? I searched for GFX and SIPL mats. GFX mats are apparently available in Karol Bagh market dealers but they are currently selling those used in city. I tried those in elevate but they do not fit properly especially for rear seats.

So I am still searching a good option of tray mats. This is also horrible strategy from Honda to force customers in buying entire basic kit and not selling accessory items standalone. Do let me know the bucket mat options if available.

The Honda connect app is useful but I see that the trip data are not entirely accurate but OK.

As for Bucket Mats, the mud guards and floor mats are available as standalone but bucket mats are not available in the accessory list and hence my dealer (Olympia Honda) said, they can't order the same from honda. Anyway, I wanted the mudguard and floormat (for the sake of an brand embroidered floor mat). So ordered the basic kit and i'm now stuck with a cleaning and polish kit that I don't use.
Congratulations on your new Honda Elevate and happy motoring .

My dealer (Capital Honda) too tried to push for Basic Kit while I did not want to pay for the keychain, hammer and cleaning kit in it. I wrote to Honda customer care and within a day, the dealer said they can order the required accessories separately instead of buying the basic kit.

Where I would have ended up paying Rs 12,000 for Mat, Bucket mat, hammer, keychain and mud flap, I paid Rs 11,450 for Mat, Mud flap, Body cover and Front grille garnish- my preferred set of accessories ala carte.

for zekardo, you can call up the customer care and they will assist.

Re: Honda Elevate Review

Hello,

My review of the ZX CVT so far

Why Elevate:
Was not interested in other similar offerings as there are too many of them already on road and also in family. So my choices were C3 Aircross and Honda Elevate. Did test drive of both in early September. Although the power (because of Turbo) is good in C3 Aircross, features and safely options were not great for the money. Did couple of test drive of Elevate and booked as it matches our requirements.

Booking and Delivery:
Booking and delivery experience with Magnum Honda, Kanakapura road was smooth and no hassle. There was no pressure or push from dealer to get any additional accessories or insurance. Would rate overall experience as 5/5 for the dealership.
• Booked ZX CVT Pearl white on 19th September (paid 10K booking amount)
• Vehicle confirmed on 31st October
• Vehicle arrived in showroom on 6th November and PDI done on 7th November(third party, zeekardo). Odometer was 10KM.
• Insurance from Acko on 7th November (40% less than quote from Honda)
• Full payment and registration was done on 8th November.
• Took home the new Elevate on 10th November.
• Today(20th Nov), first free service was done with 1902KM on ODO

I purchased the following accessories
• From Dealer: Basic Kit, cargo tray, step illumination
• Outside: Cover, Dashcam
Honda Elevate Review-untitled.png

Driving Experience:
Disclaimer: The following is the comparative experience from my earlier vehicle (Punto 1.3 Dynamic with 1.11L ODO, Turbo diesel engine)

Next day of the delivery went to native for about 650 KM drive with couple of detours. By the time I return to Bengaluru, ODO was already clocking 1890KM. The drive was really nice and smooth. The ride quality was great for both driver and co-passengers.

I did try to use all the safety and autonomous functionality available. Here is the summary
• Auto headlights – Found it really useful, as I don’t need to worry about keep changing the
• Collision mitigation breaking system – I did not test it per se, but it gave warning two times when two-wheeler suddenly swayed Infront of the vehicle. As it was in city and not much speed, breaking system didn’t kick in.
• Lane Keeping Assist System(LKAS) – works like a charm during the daylight. But you need to keep your hands on sterring wheels as not all roads have the lanes marked properly. While chaing lanes, it gives haptic feedback if indicators are not on.
• Adaptive Cruise Control(ACC) – First time user of ACC, and it works as expected. It slows down quickly if approaching any vehicle and create delay in lane change. Once road is cleared, the acceleration is quick and noisy.
• Lead Car Departure Notification system – Triggered only once after exiting NECE road.
• Sports (or “S”) mode – Manual mode is also nice when the need to have more control of the power output. Was useful while overtaking.

LKAS and ACC used extensively on highway and it just works

I would have preferred the below to be part of the package
• Mute and Pause/Start button on steering control
• Option to turn off the headlights manually
• Window shades for rear windows.

Milage: From the instrument cluster, milage was showing 16KM/L and it was same for manual calculation (Tank to Tank auto cutoff method). 60% drive was on highway and one way was with 3 adults and 2kids and full boot. Return 2 Adults and 2kids and heavier boot.

Overall happy with purchase

Re: Honda Elevate Review

About to change our 5 year old venue with an Elevate.
The insurance quote the dealer has given me is around 68K for a top end ZX CVT.
The online quote is around 24K.
What did you folks pay for the same model?

Almost the same amount for dealer insurance minus the NCB transfer deduction. I checked with a few other external insurances and the difference was only around 5-8k (I didn't try acko as someone close to me had some bad experiences) and hence went with dealer. Also, my earlier ride was a 2012 Jazz that I exchanged for this. That vehicle was always insured with dealer with some good customer experiences.

I am in Delhi, so my concern is bigger than yours in this regard.
Can't imagine being in a car where back seat travel is the least comfortable, where my two girls will spend quite a bit of time.

No sir, honestly the throw of air in VAGs are very poor. My wife always complain about not getting any air over the backseat and the aircon strength are poor in VAGs. You get into a maruti or a hyundai, you will feel that the aircon is so powerful even in at 22, for me driving a VAG it's just comfortable sometime little warm too if my aircon is put at 22. Actually it is same in a Jeep too. So i have to first keep it way low and when the cabin become's confortable then shift up while on a long dive.

Re: Honda Elevate Review

PDI completed for my Radiant Red Elevate ZX CVT, booked on September 18, and now eagerly awaiting delivery in 2-3 days.

Dealer: Peninsular Honda
Place: Trivandrum, Kerala

In the selection process for a good-looking, reliable car for long drives, preferably automatic under 20L, several vehicles were considered.

VW Taigun 1.0 Topline AT:

Liked:
  • Attractive design
  • Excellent handling and fun driving experience

Disliked:
  • Price exceeding 21L, difficult to justify
  • Apprehension about German engineering issues be it ABS sensor fails or DSG problems

VW Virtus 1.0 Topline AT:

Liked:
  • Love at first sight design
  • Fun to drive
  • Enjoyable handling, slightly less than Taigun
  • Within the budget

Disliked:
  • Concerns about German reliability
  • Opted for an SUV

Kia Seltos HTX:

Liked:
  • Feature-rich
  • Premium interior

Disliked:
  • Poor crash test score
  • Lack of wireless auto and ADAS

Hyundai Creta:

Liked:
  • Proven model
  • Feature rich

Disliked:
  • Reliability concerns observed in a test drive vehicle
  • Dissatisfaction with build quality
  • Polarizing design

Honda Elevate:

Liked:
  • Appealing design
  • Reliability (owning a BRV with no issues)
  • Competitive pricing
  • Inclusion of ADAS in an affordable package

Disliked:
  • Interior plastics, particularly AC vents
  • Engine noise at higher RPM
  • Lower claimed mileage

Opted for the Elevate as it met nearly all my criteria, and my trust in Honda's reliability played a significant role in the decision. Considering my gentle approach on the gas pedal, I anticipate achieving mileage beyond the claimed figures. I've consistently managed to extract ~26 kmpl from my BRV on long drives, reinforcing my confidence in surpassing the stated efficiency of the Elevate.

Let's talk numbers. Here's the breakdown of the cost involved:
  1. Ex. Showroom: 1599900
  2. TCS: 15999
  3. Registration: 1315
  4. Road Tax: 271983
  5. Fastag: 500
  6. Extended Warranty (4&5): 11210
  7. RSA: 1842
  8. Insurance: 30000 (Policybazaar, Zero Dip with Engine and Invoice protect)
  9. Door visor: 4500
  10. Step Illumination: 8500
  11. 7D Mat: 4200 (Amazon)
Total: 1949949

Kudos to the dealer for their commendable flexibility:
  • No insistence on accessory purchases.
  • Flexibility with outside insurance.
  • Absence of handling charges, in compliance with a court ruling, something not found in any brand or dealer across Kerala.
  • Freedom to use any Fastag, although their default tag from Federal Bank comes with subpar service.
  • Offered the option to convert from single tone to dual tone at an additional cost of 13k.

The dealer's only drawback is that their showroom is currently undergoing renovations, potentially impacting the quality of the delivery ceremony.

Eagerly anticipating the moment when I can finally get hands-on with the Elevate.

I'm also looking for GFX mats for Elevate. I was thinking of trying out CIty GFX mats, but thanks for confirming that they aren't a perfect fit.
I've asked in a lot of shops for Elevate specific GFX mats, but all of them are saying that it has not been manufactured yet.

You may use the below email format which I used:

Good Evening Sir/Ma'am,
I am an interested Honda Car buyer and I have received quotations from various*dealers containing handling charges which has been declared illegal across many court-rulings in India. I want to confirm whether Honda Car India Limited approves of this scam prevailing under name of "Handling Charges" ?*

<attach the image/document where you have been quoted Handling Charges>

Here are some proofs wherein handling charges have been declared illegal:

2.>https://www.mid-day.com/articles/sou...uyers/18680187
3.>https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/...w/48832904.cms

I hope you find the proofs satisfactory and firm. Please let me know your thoughts as soon as possible.

Yours Sincerely

For the second query, you may go with any insurer, a dealer can't force you on any brand or any source. I took Honda Assure Insurance (HDFC Ergo) because my father wanted so, his logic being that he won't have to deal with the surveyors and dealers will carry all works smoothly because they have earned some commission.

For the third one, I did my own PDI and used this checklist( Refer post 1127, page 76 on this same thread). The car was perfect.
Hey!

This post really helped. I wrote a mail to Honda.

Was later contacted by them and the Customer relationship manager of the showroom. The Handling charges have been waived off.

Expecting delivery of the vehicle this month end.

My dealer quoted around 72K. I got it done through my long term insurance agent for 43K at Tata AIG.
Dealers have tie ups with multiple Insurance companies. They all provide Bumper to bumper comprehensive coverage for UNLIMITED number of claims in a year.
If you enquire about how to reduce the premium then they will talk about options like 'upto 2 claims at NIL depreciation coverage in a year, and beyond 2 claims at slightly depreciated claim disbursal during that year..." So that was the key for me. In the past 20 years, I might have done 2 claims in a year very rarely. So UNLIMITED number of claims in a year is useless for me.

Every other feature of the insurance policies were very similar to dealer's 72K quote vs Outside dealer's 43K quote.

Re: Honda Elevate Review

Loved this car for its practical aspects. Only concern for me is the Sun roof in the top end model. Is there any way we can get a top end car without Sun Roof option. I do not understand why car makers do not make it an option here. Same thing in MG Hector as well. India is a tropical country and our cities are full of dust as well. Maintenance will be a challenge after few years and I personally feel it will compromise on the overall safety of the car.

Hey Bhpians, i have also booked elevate from Peninsular Honda, Thodupuzha. And i have been quoted Rs.14680 for just 1 year extended warranty. Does the quotation vary with dealers. Is there a fixed price provided by HCIL for extended warranty.
