When they sell, they will anyway take the full amount. This booking amount is going to stay with them for lets say an average of 2 months before the sale happens. So, this is a considerable sum.

Its a drop in the ocean for them. Look at it like this, 21k on a sales of say 15L ex-showroom, that's nothing from a working capital point of view (just ~5 days).

I have booked AX5 because AX7 has 19 inch wheels. 18 inch tyres are big enough, has better alloys, will have better ride quality and will be cheaper to replace.

And I would choose bigger bottle holders over Harman/Kardon speaker system any day.

Very reasoned decision IMHO. All the best. Exciting times ahead for you for sure.

Checked out the Thar ROXX today. Test drive was very short so I'm not going to comment much.

Few pointers:
Sound insulation- Excellent
Honda has to poach the sound insulation team from Mahindra, simply because they have done a stellar job.

Performance
Enough has been said by multiple users and for our real life Indian usage all the parameters are covered.

Usability
Definitely not for the elders in the house. The ScorpioN felt easier for entry-egress. Getting in and getting out is a task in itself. With a little one on the way, this is definitely not the single car you need in you garage if you have a growing family. As a second or third car the ROXX truly shines, but not a a primary car.

Best wishes to all who managed to book one.
For me personally with a growing family, I'll probably have to wait some more before I could take a plunge.

Mahindra have truly hit this out of the park.

This translates to appx. 367 crore.

Out of which, approx 115 Cr. will be going to the government in the form of GST and another 25 Cr. odd in the form of RTO fees. Hoping that the Govt. takes note and does more on improving road infrastructure, so that a high revenue generating industry continues to build momentum and further solidifies the India growth story!

I don't know about GST but why would Mahindra be paying 25 Cr. RTO on booking fees? It is there to hold on to as a collateral free loan till they deliver the cars. Even then it will be a credit note to customer and customer will pay GST and RTO fees.

I have booked the AX7 L 4X4 specifically for the Mocha Brown interiors. We are looking to replace our Honda City with a white Thar. I made the booking around 11:30 AM. I also received an acknowledgment form; however, this evening I received an email stating that the payment didn't go through.

However, when I check my bank statement, the payment appears to be successful. Additionally, when I try to manage my booking, I don’t receive an OTP.

I also got the failure email despite successfully paying the booking amount. In the evening, I received following message on whatsapp from "Mahindra Auto" account

Hey how about a all black interior! Are you listening to us users? @ Mahindra & Mahindra

My dad has been aspiring to add a Thar since the launch of 3 door new gen but had to drop due to lack of rear space and being 3 door.

He always wanted to have a Jeep like vehicle as my late grandfather used to have one long ago.

Now, since Mahindra has launched the 5 door version of Thar, he is after it and willing to get one especially after the launch of 5 door.

Since we own Hycross Hybrid at home, will the Thar Roxx complement well along with the Hycross? Also, will the Thar Roxx be easier to drive for ladies? Asking because this will be driven by my mom as well, who has been driving the Honda City iDTEC presently.

And, we intend to replace our Honda City, which is our secondary car at home, with Thar Roxx. But, confused whether we should go for it or look elsewhere like Creta/Seltos or an EV.

The variant I prefer to have in Thar Roxx is AX5L RWD D AT as it gets all the features I wanted.

For secondary car, EV makes all that sense. You only need to assess if you want to go for it now or wait for a couple of years since EV price is expected to come closer to that of the equivalent ICE car in next approx. 2 years

It still shows Payment Failed for me. Though the amount remains deducted.

So Mahindra has better server than BookMyShow during Coldplay. rl:

This number is definitely inflated to create hype. I logged on to book and soon as i put my otp booking was already there at the dealership i'd inquired for the test drive. There must be many like me. I'd signed up for a test drive which i have not got yet.

Technically there are companies which are able to handle that kind of traffic on their sites and then there are companies which do not purposely allow a simple validation of not accepting another booking when one booking is done. Once the booking is done - What is left is whether the booking amount has been received or not and a booking ID generated for the customer.
The *Wrong* count is definitely to the liking of the media.
Surprised that having technology arm this company is not able to provide a seamless, bug free experience.
When will we learn that there is something called “Feel Good Factor.”

That booking figure is astounding. So much so about the slowdown in the automotive industry. With this, Mahindra looks poised to decimate TATA for the 3rd position for sure (it's already there in September and will keep this position for long).

Wondering if the new launches in the last couple of months were so uninspiring that people did not have money to but cars which is leading to acute reduction in sales volume and spike in inventory? Where does money suddenly come from? :p:p
