Has anyone found a PDF copy online? Unable to find this for any other current Skoda models either.

And to any Kylaq owner - do they provide a printed copy with the car?
Yes I received a printed manual same as online version.

It can be activated aftermarket with coding but during the Prestige AT TD, I kept it on a ramp and it held even after 5 seconds. So I feel that at least for AT variants, hill hold might not be needed.

Prestige AT supports hill hold. The car remained still on the incline because the hill hold got activated. The design is such that hill hold gets auto activated if the incline angle is above certain degrees.

Re: Skoda Kylaq Review

Could anyone provide information regarding the vehicle's inbuilt connectivity features? Specifically, does it utilize an internal modem or require an external dongle, similar to the Jio device found in the Kushaq? Also, could someone show how to test the anti theft alarm?

Congratulations on your new car, Gags4wheels. I believe this is the first Lava Blue Kylaq on the forum. Could you please post more photos of the car under different lighting conditions?

Mom and I are pretty much sold on the Lava Blue Kylaq but our dealership did not have any Lava Blue cars to take a look at.

Thanks in Advance.

Not too sure about it. I am a new prospective customer of the brand. I am looking at either the manual classic or the signature auto. The classic with an infotainment and alloy upgrade is all the car I would need. The signature doesnt seem that value oriented considering the mediocre infotainment system. Would have loved to have rear defogger/washer-wiper and arm rests. Also feature like the cruise control makes sense to me only on an auto car. Was now considering the signature auto but not too sure how big of a miss hill hold is. I don't want to perform the handbrake acrobatics everytime i am on an incline.

Is the torque converter 'torquey' enough with its creep to keep the car going without hillhold on inclines?

I was testing its ability to hold post the hill hold is released. My understanding is that it is till 3 or 5 sec for hill hold. The car stayed there because I believe the creep is strong in this. In bumper to bumper traffic it’s almost a one peddle drive, slightly better than Honda’s CVTs.

In general, all automatics have a creep function, which means the car will move ahead at speed up to 8 KM per hour when slotted in Drive mode. This alone helps to hold the car on incline in 99% of the cases. Hill hold is just additional feature to ensure certainty to this scenario.

Additionally, I have a quick question, is there is any aftermarket dongle or device connected to the OBD port?

Re: Skoda Kylaq Review

Have a PDI coming up later this week (Prestige MT), and plan to use the team-bhp checklist which I believe covers most things.

Any Kylaq-specific things to look for? Or specific advice?

Congratulations on your new Kylaq. I have a quick question, is there is any aftermarket dongle or device connected to the OBD port? Also curious to know what does Skoda Telematics you mentioned? Is it same as Inbuilt connectivity for Sig+ and Prestige variants listed in brochure?

Congratulations!

The free service package is now provided just for a year - apparently the 3-year offer ended with the pre-booking period. Was yours a pre-booked order?

Interestingly, the dealer also refuses to include the paid extended warranty (+3 years) up-front and claims that this can only be purchased after delivery of the vehicle. Is this typically how it works?

If I were in your position, would ask my friends (who are well built ) to accompany me during TD. With 5 pax in the car, on a weekday noon, go to any decent mall with basement parking having a fairly steep incline on which you can stop the car while on the ascend and then climb again. I have a strong feeling you may need to use handbrakes in this condition in the absence of hill hold.

Aside to that, using handbrakes to manoeuvre on the incline may seem complicated. But once you get a hang of it, it comes naturally while driving on the hills. My previous car was a first generation i20 manual. I have driven it across hills in fully loaded condition and it’s the handbrake release technique which helped me do it confidently. Kylaq has far more power than older i20.

Thanks and will definitely share the same. You can check with Skoda service center. Chances are these dongles are Skoda made and finding them after market will be a bit of a challenge but no harm in checking. What I remember specifically in my conversation with the SA is that for Prestige and Signature Variants the dongle is included, but for the remaining variants customer has to pay for the connected car features. So you can definitely buy it at extra cost
