Hey nice pictures. Thats some well-maintained classics in there. Why the tag 'super beetle"?

Didnt know there was a well kept VW bus around. Had seen tons of them in California where every surfer worth his salt just had to own one.

Thanks for sharing.

the super beetle was the name given to the ultimate version of the bug, a 1600cc dual port motor, porsche 911 style front suspension set up, larger storage space, and finally a curved front windscreen.... officially named the 1303S

there are atleast 4-5 aircooled vw buses in bombay, 5 in pune, and theyre getting whisked out of the country pretty briskly these days...

I spent the better part of my formative years (12-15) in the back of one. I used to go go drinking with an older bunch of guys in it to what is now Joggers Park at Carter Road. We had many, many evenings of alcohol induced upchucking... combine 2 Khajuraho beers chased with 2 whiskey shots on an empty stomach, & you have a sure fire shot at wishing you were dead.

Sheesh man, brings back memories...

Just saw the plates on the Beetle Bus! That's the one I think, though it was painted blue with maroon rexine seats at the time I caroused in it...

Pity to see it still in such a lousy condition - it hasn't changed much since I saw it last...

hey the links not workin and i was offered a vw micro bus pickup in mint condition for 1.75. Very rare, a pick up micro i thought but kanjoosi got the better of me and i offered him a meagre amount which made himsee red. think ill send him another offer if its still available.
During the rein of Garam Dharam and Hema, Amitabh and Jaya, the in thing for the stars was owning a micro. Seen Mehmood etc and many such yester year stars till the Pajeros and the Land cruisers came and took over.
