Wow, this thing will cost so much to restore, its not even worth it. The rear panel has been cut out to add lights, the das and entire interior is shot to hell...and lets not forget how much rust likely exists in the chassis areas. Oh, also Ford never made a 278 motor - it was either a 260 cu in or a 289 cu in.

It might still make some sense to restore given the circumstances in India - availability of these cars is next to nought, when they do rarely come on the market, prices are completely unrealistic given demand and supply. Parts supply internationally I'm told is great, and we still have skilled labour for complex bodywork jobs. Naturally ideally we would look for a better project to work on, but....

Good points Karl. Parts are readily available, but most likely only in the US, so freight costs will be very high as they are all going to be oversized - doors and panels. The big issue is the integrity of the repairs, as this one looks like you almost need a full new underside and body! What would concern me most is the structural integrity after the jaddhu giri is completed!! I have a 1966 Convertible, so will send you some pics.

The black one (looks like a 65) is from mumbai and was recently restored and was converted to right hand drive if Im not mistaken this is also a V8. I've seen it at a petrol pump in bandra which I believe is the new base of toyato tech garage along with another fastback mustang. The blue one is from banagalore I believe don't know much about that one.

The light blue one, one in the first picture, is a 1967 'stang imported from Dubai along with a Cadillac Fleetwood. The Caddy was sold off to Chennai and the 'stang remains here in BLR. This was what I was told by the person who mailed me the pictures.
