Well the car in the pic is a mix and match of 1960's upto 1967.

The car is actually a 1966 1300cc, the bumpers are correct, they must have the banana guards on which might have been removed or might have been lost.

The hubcaps date back to 1962 thru 1964.

Though the car looks good from far , its still far from being good.

Yes very well done up car, wonder whats the quoted price for it.

Saw this VW Golf yesterday. It seemed to be a daily diver and was moving pretty smoothly. Could anyone identify the model and the year and also inform as to how much a similar one would cost to purchase?

There was a diesel one on sale here (owned by my ex neighbour) for 25K, it was picked up by a VW collector here.

Amol, a Mk 1 Golf for 25 K is a wonderful buy !! What condition was she in ? Running ? What about body rust etc ?

Suren..The VW that you spotted belongs to Royal Cars in Banjara Hills.
I had a VW golf and i sold it off for 20K.You should not spend more than 25K for a VW Golf.

For me he was giving it free, It sold for 25K, she was in bad shape but complete, lot of bodywork, I did not want to spend time and money on a Golf.

that green mk3 golf is a CL or GL not a GTI, GTI Golfs are lower in height, they have rear disc brakes too.

Chargerman, not sure if it is the same car. The last I saw the red beetle on Brigade Road was ~8 years ago. That was a Super Beetle, it had a sporty Porsche-like aftermarket spoiler, FUCHS wheels(like on your Beetle) and brass tail-pipes among many other mods. It used to belong to "Popular Auto", an accessories store.
