Armed with the original rings and a light now the denter would start his work o n the car. The only worry that I have in my mind his is dialogue "Mein 4 gante me karta hoon (I will complete the job in 4 hours) I would be providing him the exact photographs as well before he starts his work.
@manish: The color is more or less finalised now :). Looking at powder blue
Good going Shiva!
Is that Stanher in the third pic?

Hehe! Good one, ram (safely assuming you said this in a light-hearted tone!)
BTW, incidentally, this part of team-bhp where this thread exists has too many cooks as well!! :uncontrol
Anyway, rest assured that I had gone there not really to cook but rather to savour a sample of the broth that was cooking! :D
I could say it was a mini feast- to my eyes that is! :slurp:
Shiva really helped me have a good time yesterday, and also lighten my mood a bit when I had just gone through a disappointment with some shopping I was doing.
Seems that I have a problem on my hands. For the moment, even if we set aside the HL conversion from larger to smaller, the light wells need urgent attention, one of them looks at the sky and the other points straightward. I still fail to understand how could the denter miss such a glaring abnormality :Frustrati.
I seriously need directions with the conversion now please:
Shiva, I feel the the line is not straight. Is it really so or seen like that in the pic?

Man, that sure is a bummer!
Luckily you didnt go ahead with the final coats because you were contemplating modifying the lightwells for the smaller headlights!
Ok, here's what you can do- if you're reverting to the smaller headlights, dont bother about the alignment on this well too much, as the lightwells would both anyway be cut and the final (smaller) lightwell could then be adjusted to be set straight. From what I can make out, this crookedness could've occured when the lightwells were being modified to the large type itself.
If you're leaving them as they are, then this needs to be tackled directly and completely.

It's due to the photograph. A clearer picture below
@shyam: I seriously don't understand how to get it done. When the conversion from the smaller to larger one happened, the front portion of the light well was cruelly folded on the inside and welded tight. I had to point this to the folks working on my car which in probability would have been missed by them at the end. Now should I or should I not trust the denter is my issue
How I wish that some old tinkerer comes somewhere out of the blue who knows old cars in and out and work on this piece.
Now I have a doubt, and this is boggling my mind since the start. How was this conversion from smaller wells to bigger done, and why can't that be reversing the same process rather cutting and having the short wells ones and where do we get that? It should be from some original /un tampered car which would be finding a "pin in a hay stack" isn't it.

Well, the HL conversion from small to large is fairly easy, the front of the fender is cut / rolled in the inside and a larger headlamp ring from the padmini is welded -- Job done but in case of the larger to smaller, the implications in getting done are manyfold.
1. Getting the design (curvature right)
2. Fabricating the smaller light ring along with the mounting supports for the HL

Just one question, With bigger Headlights do you have the Inner ring which mounts on the body and has got Spring loaded screws and acts for the adjustment of the head light beam. You will befinitely have but more specifically does it is a fiat original part?

I wish it was a fiat part. It's a PP part
Looks like today is my day, I have been showered with some extremely rare parts from our Hyderabad gujri.
The day started with a positive note with me able to find a denter who is a virtuso in old fiats, then my written off wiper motor started working again after being serviced and then this catch :D
Will let the pictures do the talking
