Please show the front and rear of the car.from the pictures itself there are some original stuff missing like, the running board mats and trim.
the side body molding is of later model. The mats and door cards also does not seem original.

I wouldnt disagree but atleast let's give the car some credit for what it does have on!

Atleast it doesnt have a maruti or later model/super beetle steering wheel or later model hubcaps/bumpers...!

Hi g1_gold

Welcome to the Forum and happy that you have posted the pictures of your car. The Forum is a very rigorous and will put you through many a test. You need to take this in the right spirit. Quite a few members come with vast experience and it is there desire the many you aware of your car and points it + and -. It is for you to take this positively and work towards making your car reach competition specs.

Suggest you put as many photographs of the car and I am sure the Pandit's will guide and this advice comes free ! From your post I get the feel you want to maintain originality and there is no better place then here for a scrutiny.

All the best

Cheers

fully with you.But the owner himself had in its first post said that it is ""ALL ORIGINAL"" and ""One of its Kind"",that is why I pointed out what all non original stuff is there.

For Sale? Why?

Not being presumptious.. but did the owner feel bad about the few negative comments?

Barring the non-original 1)Tail Lights 2) Fender Indicators.

The car is good enough to be called original.

Nothing much mentioned about the documentation.

But with that price tag, its a Strict NO

Correct me if i'm wrong.. the fender indicators should be clear glass and the fuel gauge was added in July of 1961.

Shouldn't the bonnet have the wolfsburg crest logo? and what is the correct type of tail lights colour?

In August 1961 Fuel Reserve Tap(kaco) was replaced by Fuel gauge in all US spec models, but continued in 1200(EURO) models till 1971 or so.
The fender indicators were amber coloured.
The tail lights was full red in US specs and Red/Amber combo light,(HELLA /HASSIA/ULO/Gabel according to the market)
Yes the bonnet should have the wolfsburg crest logo

Facts:
1. The tail lights on this car are full red, therefore correct for a 1962 US spec model.
2. The fender indicators on this car are amber coloured, therefore correct for this model.
3. There is a fuel gauge on this car, therefore again signifying a 1962 US spec.
4. LHD - supports US specs.

The mats and door panels can be redone if required later. I guess they won't be too expensive. Pavan has already posted the cost incurred on his Bug interiors. Affordable! The bonnet logo and some external trim also can be sourced and will not be too expensive.

Now if only we could see some pics of the engine bay, engine no and chassis no. we could correctly conclude the car is a original car!
Dear g1_gold, please appease us with the above!

I am sure once this is done we can shift the valuation of this car to the classic car valuation thread.
