Here's some pictures of my family's '74 VW Bus. We got this van in Goa about 3 years ago. The mechanic who owned it said he had got the car from Bangalore.
The bus is now mostly used only for short drives once every two weeks, But we have been driving it to Mahablehwar at-least 2 or 3 times a year, We even did two trips back to Goa!
The AC Unit is from another baywindow that was scrapped.
The 1600cc engine has recently been rebuilt and runs very well, We still have to do about a 100 more kms to finish running-in.

If i look at this Bus of yours, mine is Half as original as this.

Thanks, but the most original bus would be inderpalgill's Westfaila.
Our bus may be one of the best maintained/regularly used/reliable, But definitely not the most original

I am a FIAT fan, but thanks to PK, i now know a lot about VWs. Your BUS looks just fantastic. Nice to see a Blue bus! I am used to too many Yellow VW cars!

Exceptionally clean example of what is truly an iconic vehicle. During my stay in California, I saw a couple of superb Microbuses...all owned by, you guessed it, surfers. I knew some surfer kids (from my uni) who were willing to pay good money for a Microbus and bringing it back to shape, than on a brand new car. It was ranked as being amongst the coolest cars on a campus that also had a couple of Lamborghinis.

is this bus AC equipped, as i cudnt see it in the engine pics?

No, The Bus is not AC equipped. The AC blower is original VW but there is no compressor installed.

We decided to do one more Mumbai - Mahableshwar trip in the Bus before it gets sold. Me and my brother took some friends along, There were total 10 people in the van + lots of luggage. This was the first long trip after the engine rebuild. The bus ran very well, We covered over 400km in the last few days without any problems at all!
