This Ford car was mostly used by Nizam for Friday prayers driving from King Kothi to Public Garden mosque, read some where don't remember now. Traffic police at that time had to face hard time to keep the public clear from road, when the VIP is coming in unexpected car.

Cheers!

Heres are a few pictures of the 7th Nizam of Hyderabad,Mir Osman Ali Khan arriving at the Shahi Masjid in Public Gardens for Prayers, in the Model B Ford and also in HUMBER

Superb pictures Mohammed. Thanks for sharing, nice to actually see a picture of him stepping out of the Ford. My father always remembered his peculiar style of acknowledging a salaam when he was seated in a car as it drove by. He would simply raise his index finger as his palm rested on the window ledge in acknowledgement !

"Like grandfather like grandson" Similar to the practice of the 7th Nizam, the 8th Nizam Mukarram Jah attends Friday prayers at the Chiraan Palace Masjid in a simple white Sherwani. He is seen here being driven down from the Chiraan palace to the Chiraan masjid by his son Prince Azmath Jah in a Jeep. (Poor picture quality regretted)

Read this article in some Indan Auto magazine last year. Is 1913 the correct year?

This is quite possibly the same Side valve, 3 gear, Jeep with trailer that used to be sent down to Bangalore every year in Febuary/March to collect HH M.J. from the airport and drive him to the fishing camp on the Cauvery where he used to fish for Massheer. He would usually stay for 4 days to a week, had an extremely lavish camp set up..and entertained many of the other regular fishermen, Eric Boesinger, Joubert VanIngen,Mr. Shetty etc etc.[including myself] to wonderful dinners replete with aromatic Hyderabadi biryani and Ice cream etc. :)

This is an OVER HEAD VALVE post 1968-69 right hand drive jeep and this too has 3 gears,if am not wrong ,its presently parked in chowmahallah palace ,where all other parks are displayed. This is not a part of the display .

Another Jeep of Mukarram Jah...not yet a part of the display @ Chowmohalla Palace, Does the number plate help anyone recollect details?

I really wish I had some pictures of those times but unfortunately these were a part of what I lost to a fire that ravaged my home in Kodaikanal a few years ago.So many reminders of good times and and good people that went up in smoke.

If one looks at the number of the jeep in this picture and the one in post number 199,it can be made out its the same ,ADY 6449.

In the year 1948 Basalath Jah visits the Jagirdar's College (Now Begumpet Public School) What's the car in the background?

The height and whitewall and huge wheel cap and sneak peek indicate its the Packard From their collection. But you say it's 1948 ? Which is incorrect to the model but then it's another American car if the year is right.

Cheers

From the profile of the roof too it hints at a PACKARD, maybe CLIPPER, but then the year 1948 will not match, am also wondering which place in Hyderabad Public School (formerly JAGIRDAR'S College) this picture is taken.Any clues as its my old school.

Basalat Jah had a 1939 blue Packard 120 convertible sedan and a LaSalle sedan
