Morris Major 6 MJ15 4 seater Tourer 1933

Restoration of this car was undertaken in March 2008 and now it's roadworthy. It may probably enter the The Statesman Rally this year to be held on 13th Feb 2011 in Delhi. The car originally was registered with the Regn No BGM 10 but with the change of ownership it has been given WBC 9077 by the Alipore Transport Authority, West Bengal.Keen vintage enthusiast's across the globe consider Major a rare car and the tourer's are more so.The following year it was called Cowley Six and in 1935 the Fiteen Six.I have tried my best to keep the restoration as close as possible to the original-don't know how much I have succeeded. Some pictures could not be uploaded as they were oversized.Hope to post them in future after size reductions.

Happy New Year to all who love and share this hobby.

I am stunned after having a look at the pictures. What a transformation Mr. Bhasin. Major looks immaculate. Great work.

bhasin54 Congratulations. The level of restoration is top of the line. I hope it rocks in the forthcoming The Statesman rally in February. An excellent effort!

Hi Promod,

The car has come out very well and congratulations on this restoration.

Once you fit the stepney on the front mud guards the car will look even better.

Cheers

Here are some more technical details of the car from the net.

There is a thumbnail picture of same car with the hood up which will give you an idea how she looks hood up. The hood design is also very nice

Wow Mr. Bhasin,

Heartiest congratulations! The car looks marvellous. Very very good level of workmanship is evident on the car. Love the colour scheme as well.

I never new there was a model called a Morris Major till now. Please do share more pics of the car being restored as it would help us members in current and future restorations.

Considering the condition of the car before the restoration, the outcome is indeed superb.

Congratulations again!

Regards
Prithvi

Great job. Those are indeed rare cars worldwide and in India too...I am not sure there are any others around.

Thank you all for a very encouraging response to my earlier post.
I am not that tech savvy and frustrated at not being able to take out time to put up posts on the site due to personal reasons.

Good news is that the car was entered in the 45th Statesman Vintage & Classic Rally held in New Delhi on 13th Feb 2011 and won the TC'S Heritage Trophy given to a car entering for the first time after restoration.

Attached are a few more pics.

Dear Mr Bhasin,

Congratulations on winning the Heritage Trophy.

I would like to suggest that you should remove the cover the on the stepney. The red colour of the rims are important to enhance the look of the car.

Cheers
