Guess only boots are based on CC :). But i agree that this is "the" true BHPian riding with pride and style no matter what he is riding. Safety first...Looks secondary.

Love it!!!!

It's remarkable, his riding gear is probably more expensive than his ride.

Hi All,

It's time to replace my ageing riding boots. The Sidi Vertigo Air that I bought 6 years and 3 months ago finally gave in over the weekend, on my return ride to Bangalore from Thekkady.

The left boot heel part has torn off and owing to safety requirements, I don't even want to consider the option of trying to repair the boot. Earlier, a year or so ago, both the soles of the boots came off and they were stuck back with a mix of show glue and feviqwik.

Going by the fit, finish, comfort and life, I am considering the below two boots as a replacement:

Option 1 - Sidi Cobra Air US $ 250.00 (link)

Option 2 - Sifi Fusion US $ 195.00 (link)

Does anyone have any experiences or viewpoints to share on the Cobra Air? These will be bought in USA and carried down here.

Thanks.

[quote=shyn;4200985]Just took delivery of my first pair of riding shoes!
Went for the TCX X-Ville mainly because this is the most sneakery yet functional shoe I could find. Ordered it on Motardinn.com and ended up paying a little more than what I would have liked (all thanks to 50% import duty) but the damage has been done so no point crying about it now!

Hi,

Could you please tell whether you opted for courier through india post or dhl???
thanks in advance

I opted for India Post.
Btw, if you are looking to buy these for the waterproof part, then I would advice against it. Just this week I wore them on a 300km Hyderabad-Vijaywada ride and my feet were as wet as they would be in normal sneakers after a 1hr ride in pouring rain.
They are good enough only for a short time in a passing shower like the one I encountered on my way back to Hyderabad from Bengaluru yesterday.
So choose wisely.

You are welcome!
The transit time is roughly between 2-3 weeks. The tracking number takes a couple of days to get working and helps you keep track of the package.

Hi BHPians, I am in the market for a pair of riding gloves and a jacket. My total budget as of now is 10k. Can anyone recommend me a decent pair of gloves and jacket which can give a basic level of protection? Please note that I live in Ahmedabad and the weather here can get extremely hot. Thanks!

For Jacket its always better to go with Level 2 and on that basis below is a good combo you can get in 10k budget. I am using Solace Jacket & riding pant and i recommend it.

Solace Defender Plus Jacket - 7500 - http://solaceintl.in/index.php?route...&product_id=97

Solace Bravo Gloves - 3000 - http://solaceintl.in/index.php?route...&product_id=84 OR

Solace Aspire short Gloves - 2800 - http://solaceintl.in/index.php?route...&product_id=71

It slightly exceeds your budget, but worth it.

Have you tried the gloves? Looks a little gawdy but seem to be good VFM. The issue with such brands is usually build quality.
Anyone here experienced these gloves? What other alternatives do I have in the 3k segment?

Thank you KK and Mithun. I think I have decided to take a pick from both the recommendations. I am mostly ordering the TBG gloves and the Solace jacket!:)

Hi,

Is there any shop in Kolkata where I can buy riding gears (Jacket, knee/elbow armour etc.).

Thanks.

There are a lot of shops actually. Two of the more popular ones are:

Gear Up
https://www.facebook.com/GearUpKolkata/

BP Roadies
https://www.facebook.com/BP-Roadies-1393967677579613/

Low end gear and accessories are easily available in Wellington area

You can also drop by any Royal Enfield & Triumph dealers for company branded gears.

Anyone used these TBG Flair gloves?
They should have made an all-black murdered-out version!

I have not used their gloves so no first hand report, but this one obviously will not match TBG Sports gloves quality. On the solace quality I have been using Jacket for 4 months and Riding pant for a month and I vouch for them.

You can try these in 3k budget, again I don't own any of these, I am using TBG sports and pretty happy with it.
