Gosh thats one ghastly accident. When did this happen, dont recall reading anything on this accident recently?. Any updates on what happened to the survivor. Lot many lives are lost because of heavy vehicles parked on roads without any indicators. Why dont he cops do anything about this.

As per the local paper, the three had gone to Coffee Day around Night 10.30 when the accident happened. The car was Hyundai. Was the driver of the car over speeding?

Again,it's clear case of lagging lower bumper in the lorry which would have saved the two lives,
When will our goverment will bring stricter norms for this

Offtopic, this Maddur Coffee Day is becoming famous for all the wrong reasons.
A lot many lives have perished in the name of that Coffee Day.

While it is the lorry's fault, the car seems to be travelling too fast too. I can't imagine the kind of speeds he must have been doing to get his car wrecked like that.

in india you really need to keep your eyes wide open and keep a check on speed while driving at night

serious concentration lapse on the part of the car driver.
truck driver is partly at fault for not putting any indicators that he is stationary.
Drunken Driving on the part of the car guy is also a possibility.

Wait just a moment.

Yes, it is pretty bad to leave something in the middle of the road, but it is also pretty bad to drive straight into that thing.

As vinaydas says, partly at fault.

That Tamarind tree... saw the news reports, never imagined it was a BHPian. Miraculous escape!

Phew! That is horrible!

You can definitely blame the lorry driver for this incident but only partly. How can you miss a LORRY parked on the side of the road? He obviously didn't miss it. He must have seen it but he would've been doing some seriously insane speeds at that moment and couldn't react in time to avoid the mishap! There is no way that he hadn't seen it. He just didn't have the time to react because of the speed he was probably doing. Period!

Quite a horrendous crash ! The damage to the car shows what speeds the driver must have been doing to wreck it like that. Cannot even make out which car that is.

Looks like a Hyundai Verna and looking at the impact on the car, poor guy must have been in 130-150kmph. May their souls R.I.P.

Its amazing how quickly we come to conclusions! We don't know what the car guy was doing.

How much of the road will you be able to see at night with MORONS on High Beams in HID pointing straight at you? You don't need serious speeds to have a crash like that. It can happen if you get blinded by the MORONS driving in high beam and you drive straight into that truck without even the slightest braking. Think about that.

Well said! Mysore road is a death trap in itself, and broken down lorries on a highway is asking for it.
