This was the end result when my cousin took a nap while driving. Hit an electric post. The occupants are safe.

Sad to hear about the accident. Luckily no one is hurt.

Is the car a new one? It hurts to see a new car in such a bad shape.

Sympathy --- but it is a pity he didn't break that bull bar off.

Imagine that hitting flesh and bone.

Say No To Bullbars --- They have no place on any vehicle outside of a forest.

Is it that boring to drive?

Jokes apart, really sorry man, to see your brand new Fortuner in such a state. Hope it gets back to its glory soon, do share the repair costs and time, if its ok with you!

PS: Thats quite a shunt, your fender is almost ripped off and yet the airbags haven't deployed. I understand it takes into account the speed and all before deploying. Just curious, if something hits you diagonally exactly like your case, and continues to intrude the passenger cabin will the airbags deploy or not? Any ideas?

Many used to wonder when you say somebody may sleep while driving...

But, I am experienced. I slept once while driving my maruti 800 early in the morning , that too, with my pregnant wife on the front passenger seat !!!
Luckily she noticed that the car is slowly moving towards the left side of road.. then coming out of the road.... she immediately shouted and asked what is happening. SO, NOTHING HAPPENED

That is one SCARY experience to share, I experienced it when traveling from Mumbai airport to Pune, I told the cab driver that I didnt sleep the last night (it was around 2 PM) and hence will be sleeping in the back seat (I usually prefer the front seat and it is an Indica). After some time (we are still in the express highway) I felt the car is going very slow and it is taking ages to cross the highway, waking up, I see that the car is being driven at 30 Kmph at the left most lane with the driver almost sleeping. I asked the driver if he wants a break to take a nap, he said not required and took off in the regular speed, I shifted to front seat and ensured that both of us didnt sleep. One experience never to forget.

A friend of mine had a close encounter of the sleeping kind also the only thing is that he was actually accelerating rather than slowing down the only thing that really saved him was a loud beeep the car emitted once he exceeded the set speed i think it was 90-100kph and i think the car was either a BMW or maybe a Mercedes dont recall.

It's not only Delhi that's got a makeover just now, just because the CWG is here. Mumbai doesn't want to be left behind either - roads there are being washed with milk!

Quote:
The milk truck lost control and skidded spilling several litres of milk on CST road. Driver Sachin Kanse escaped the accident with minor injuries and was sent to St George's Hospital. Fire brigade authorities cleared the spilt milk from the road.
